Beautiful grounds and building. The museum is filled with great artifacts and naval exhibits with a twist of Rhode Island history. Highly recommended. Wish the store was open to grab a mug or something that has the war college logo.

We were there with someone attending the Naval War College, so no issue getting in. We enjoyed the tour especially the exhibit on Perry in Japan. Lots to see, an informative visit for us. Sorry the gift shop was not open, was looking forward to...More

A well presented history of the Navy War College and the surrounding area. It takes preplanning to get on base but the views and the museum are worth it. Plenty to learn. I was surprised to find out that the USNA moved here during the...More

Never knew this was here until I read a TripAdvisor review. The vetting went quick and we spent about an hour or so. Glad we saw it

I stayed on the base for two nights, and I ended it off with a visit to this wonderful museum. The torpedo facility used to be on this base, so this museum is basically devoted to that subject. My main interest was that the US...More

National security concerns require visitors to call and register for their visit one week in advance to obtain security clearance, but that is well worth the effort. Slightly off the beaten path, the War College Museum has maps, historical exhibits and special art exhibits galore....More

their website is incorrect. you need to get a gate pass to get in, and they only issue them on weekdays. we tried to go to the museum on Saturday but couldn't. very disappointing. this isn't the precision our military should demonstrate.More

Dear Setarch2016, I apologize that you were not able to visit the museum last month. May I ask which website you went to for information? On our website (https://www.usnwc.edu/NWC-Museum) it does state that it takes 7 business days to be cleared to come on base,...More

The museum is really interesting. I had 4 teenagers with me and all found something they learned. Then we went to the Officer's Club for lunch. Anyone can eat there. Prices good and food great.
