It’s nice to say I have visited one of the first libraries in the United States. It’s an old library so not super exciting but it’s cool for book lovers.

Was as good as The Newport Art Museum next door. Historical and interesting. Great portraits by great painters on the walls. Well worth the visit. Free for RI residents with a library card.

My librarian/book nerd was in heaven during this visit. The history alone is fascinating. The building and grounds are beautiful. Staff was informative, friendly, and willing to make recommendations for food and adventure in Newport. This was well worth the time spent.
