About
Buffalo's story is about more than snow, and rust and chicken wings. At No Illusions Tours we are here to provide a glimpse into our city's larger story through the lives and events not often discussed. Our tour shed light on the story of Buffalo through 5 different walking tours of various lengths and in different areas of the city. These include, Buffalo's Favorite Daughters (3 separate tours), Buffalo Lit and Buffalo Annomalies (held in the fall). Our season runs from May- October.

Maria is very knowledgeable about Buffalo’s history. I’m a big Halloween fan, my friend and I walked the Buffalo Anomalies tour: Abridged, it was spooky and also educational. I learned quite a few new things about Buffalo. I can’t wait until next season so I can check out some of her other offerings.

The Anomalies Tour given by Maria Blair this past weekend did not fail to impress with historical stories, local gore, and humor. Maria is a charming tour guide that makes the city come alive from the past to the present in a fun manner. This fully booked tour was clearly enjoyed by all, and is recommended to locals and out of towners.

Did the ghost haunting tour with Maria & friends last evening. Had a blast! Maria is amazing, her recall of Buffalo history and storytelling made this tour so worthwhile. Maria not only educated on American, New York and Buffalo history but Buffalo architectural history and famous ghost stories. Looking forward to participating in many other No Illusions Tours!!

This is the second of Maria’s tours that I’ve taken, and it was just as good as the first one! She is a very good speaker, and knows an amazing amount of information about our history! She is very passionate about her work, and it shows. Highly recommend!

Maria's tour though Forest Lawn Cemetery was very educational and fun. The Victorian style picnic was A truly unique experience. Maria has done a great deal of research and a great speaker, sharing her knowledge in a fun manner. She is a delight to listen to and to learn from

Amazing! I was the only one who signed up for a tour that day but we did it anyway, so it was a very nice, personalized experience where it felt more like a nice walk with a (very knowledgeable) friend. I learned a lot about the historical women of Buffalo and would be happy to go on another one of her tours. Thanks again!!

I went on Maria’s Buffalo’s Favorite Daughters tour on July 22nd. Maria is exceptionally knowledgeable and well researched about Buffalo’s history. She takes her time and answers any and all questions you may have. She clearly loves what she does and I highly recommend her tours!
