There's not much to do at the plaza during the day except visit the San Fernando Cathedral which is beautiful inside and houses the remains of some of the heroes of the Alamo. The light show on the cathedral at night is definitely worth checking...More

San Antonio has many plazas/parks/squares as recreation area in downtown. Main Plaza is one of them. A big open place west of the Riverwalk between Commerce St. and Dolorosa/Market St. You can breath and relax in the silent plaza with view to the majestic San...More

The nighttime light show on San Fernando Cathedral is stupendous. My family had never seen anything like it. The entire façade with the cathedral is covered with a bright, artistic, moving light show featuring images from the history of San Antonio. It is hard to...More

Main Plaza is the heart of San Antonio, and the beautiful San Fernando Cathedral is the anchor of this plaza. Enjoy your time sitting at a table and eating from one of the food trucks. But ensure you stay for the exciting laser light show...More

One of the coolest places - unfortunately not literally - in San Antonio is Main Plaza. It's just steps off the river, and there are plenty of fountains, which you are strangely not allowed to play in. That would make it even awesomer. What's really...More

It is true, Main Plaza in downtown San Antonio is not an especially appealing place. However, if you are in the area at night, you must watch the special A/V presentation, "San Antonio: The Saga." This 24 minute light show is projected on the facade...More

It's a small square/resting spot with tables and chairs and water fountains. The San Fernando Cathedral is right there. It's worth a look around, maybe grab something to eat and enjoy the fountains.

A bunch of dubious characters around, tables and chairs and the facade of the cathedral... That is pretty much it. You can head to the river walk for a nice leisurely walk. There is some limited parking close by.

It's fountains and benches, that's it. They do hold a number of events here, but atmosphere is poor since it's wedged between two busy streets.
