This was such a fun place to visit, especially on July 4, that had a reenactment of Teddy Roosevelt's actual speech. Inside, you can view the rooms used by Teddy's family during the summer/vacation stay.. and the surrounding area in general was so beautiful.. !...More

We took a self guided walking tour of the town and of course walked through thus park. The grounds are well maintained and the shelters were used by families celebrating with music and great smelling barbeques. The views of the marina are soectacular.

tour of house is terrific - arrive early to get tickets or book online (only 1/4-1/3 of tickets are sold online) if you need to wait for your tour (we didn't), you can walk around the grounds or go to a museum in another house...More

Living American history worth the visit. Pretty area, low key. If you're a history buff you can spend the whole day drinking in a bully leader

Beautiful grounds to tour, including free exhibits in addition to the main house tour that is available for a fee. Walk the trail down to Oyster Bay, through the woods from the lower house. A real jewel of a National Park.

Visiting this beautiful location, in my view, is the ultimate way to get to know TR, his life and times. Each room has his unique character woven into it. It is a memorial to a great American citizen, and outstanding presidency. Happy trails.

We were there on a Monday; it was closed but that was fine. We were able to walk through the grounds; rock on the porch and enjoy each others' company. We enjoyed our time here, by ourselves it was so relaxing.

Didn't have the time to tour the house or visit the museum, but we were able to walk the grounds on a cold and rainy autumn afternoon carrying umbrellas and not get our feet wet. I'd love to revisit this site on a better day...More

We took so many pictures and no one ever said we needed a permit. We even sat and enjoyed ourselves on the porch without anyone asking us to leave. It was an enjoyable time. Have fun!!

I'm not sure, but I can't see why not....Of course, the house and museum would not be canine friendly. But you can always call the property....but I am sure that we saw dogs walking in the park.
