Word is that this theater, one of the two “art” venues in Providence, is on the verge of closing. But as attendance at a recent screening of RBG showed there is a market for quality “small” films. It would be a loss.

A nice art house cinema that show offbeat films, including animation, foreign, and children's movies. You can eat there and they serve beer. The seating consists of comfy couches for two and more typical seating. A fun time.

This place is very cool and different from any classic café. It's got its own cinema, and cinema themed locals. The panini they serve is fantastic! Only draw back is my wish for a more enthusiastic and friendly staff.

I have been going to the Cable Car Cinema since the '80's. It is an art house cinema, playing the lesser known, low budget independent films. Many of the films also have an international flavor. Before the show you can grab a little something to...More
