Iiving in Providence makes attending these events very easy but its worth a trip to watch a FULL lighting.
Several food carts but I’d caution the pricing is high so make reservations near by and then come to the show.
This is something that was a first for me. The city of Providence has done something very right with the Water Fire. They have installed fire pits above the water in the river. During certain times of the year, they light up a fire on...More

Hi, all thanks for the helpful responses. WaterFire lightings are generally all weather events. If there are sever, sustained rains we may cancel or reschedule an event, but showers and passing storms do prevent us from holding the event. In the case of storms with lighting we may need to temporarily suspend on-river activities. Visitor, volunteer, and staff safety is our number one priority. The best places to find late breaking event news, especially in regards to the weather, are on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
