The cannon itself isn’t all that impressive...but the drive to get there was scenic and had a few good photo stops...

What I love most about Rota is that you can drive yourself around the island or hire a local to ride around with you. None of the historic sites charge an entry fee and all of the sites are well maintained.

The Canon was a great site tho visit. We went on our own. The view from the area was amazing. Being able to just walk around it and see such a piece of history pretty much untouched except for some graffiti was great.

When touring around the island bring lots of water and pack a lunch, since there is no place to stop and shop, but the drive takes you into the back country of the beautiful island of Rota.

A beautiful drive to this spot. It has a great view back across the bay as well. There are several spots along here with WWII history.

A nice walk from the village up a neat, old road through the jungle. Great views of Wedding Cake and the village from the top near the cannon, too.

There are numerous Japanese cannons on Rota. The one that Trip Adviser probably means here is the one just north of the east-facing bay. It is well-maintained, and it still swivels. It's right on the NE road.
