We were lucky with the weather. Blue skies, dry and sunny. Good sized car park - but best going early in the day. Lovely walk to the glaciers with different viewing points along the way. Easy walk with a few little pulls - takes about 45 mins each way.

Personally, this was my best experience in my New Zealand holiday. From start to finish, it was amazing - something which would be difficult to repeat anywhere else in the world. It was very professionally run, with thorough checks and explanations throughout the trip - nothing was left to chance. The helicopter ride to the glacier was great but it... More

Absolutely loved this experience. After being provided with gear to hike on the glacial we walked to the helicopter pad from were we took off for our adventure. We were dropped off in the middle of the glacial were our guide assisted us with our gear and we took off for a 3 1/2 our hike through caves, crevasses, and... More

The heli-hike was a once in a lifetime experience. So glad I did it! The staff were all professional and our guide was great- informative and fun (Nick). The hike on the glacier was awe-inspiring, the helicopter was brilliant and we were kitted up in all the necessary gear including boots, crampons and walking poles and I felt safe at... More

Informative walk to base of Glacier. Note. the Glacier has receded a long way from car park. Our group was split into two, speedy and not so speedy.

My husband and I had the most incredible time on our ice-explorer trip. I loved my first ever helicopter ride to get on to the glacier and felt very safe at all times. The glacier was huge, incredible and beautiful. The hiking was challenging for me but I had all the help I needed and lots of encouragement along the... More

A 3 hour guided walk up to the glacier but not on it. We could have done the walk ourselves but by going with a guide, we had his knowledge and used the company's walking boots, pole and jackets. It was a fantastic experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This glacier is a must-see, and the company was well organized. But what was touted as a 3-5 hour trip was 2.5 hours. We had hoped for so much more hiking/exploration while on the glacier. We saw other groups going much higher and farther. Our guide must have been 'double-booked'. Having said that, he was terrific, and if he was... More

Had an amazing experience walking up to the terminal face. Our tour guide Nathan was funny, enthusiastic and helpful. He had a lot of information to share about the glacier and surrounding valley but also did his best to be chatty in general. The walk was nothing short of epic. Scrambling over rocks alongside the Waiho River; trekking through the... More
