This was a unique opportunity to walk on a glacier. After a short helicopter ride to the glacier we joined our guide Ross for a 2 hour walk on the ice. We really enjoyed learning about Fox Glacier and had a great experience overall.

The ice climbing was absolutely the best. Very beautiful, very grand, you’ve never seen anything like it. And our guide Kelsy, she did a great job. She was a yuuuuge help. A real class act. You couldn’t think of a better guide, really. The best.

Though the glacier itself was a wonder, and the organization of the heli-hike good, I was extremely disappointed with the company's attitude and reaction (or lack of) to an incident at the beginning of the hike. Already on the glacier, while putting on my crampons,...More

Minimum age for the heli hike is 9 years. Not sure about the guided hike since we didn’t do that you can send an email to the company, they are pretty good at responding
