The hitch is quite a bit of fitness level to hike. Ever 400m signage of rock falls. It was drizzling with chilling winds. Not quite able to get to see that glacier we didn't go for guided tour. Interesting ferns along the way.

Good range of trails to choose from in the area. All are easily marked and on the map. Offers different ones for fitness level. The one to the glacier is a great one to get a view of the glacier and surround valley.

Very nice walk to the Fox glacier.Walk is maybe 75 to 90 mins, there and back on largely even terrain. At the end ,however, there's a significant uphill climb to an end result that's less than spectacular. If you're in the area and only have time for one hike,chose...More

This is an absolute spectacular must hike if you are in the region to see the Glacier. It's also sad to see how much it has melted in the last 10 years. There are before and after pictures along the trail and it's unbelievable how...More

It is an easy 1 hour hike (one way) from the car park to the view point. Only the last 300 are a steep climb, where stopping is not allowed due to rockfalls. On top there is a great view to the Fox Glacier, but...More

We did a number of walks in the Fox Glacier area, including the walk to the glacier itself. Overall we found the tracks to be well maintained & signposted. The rainforest is beautiful and well preserved, and birds are abundant. Some tracks were closed due...More

At the parking lot before you hike up to the glacier there is very pretty water and you can walk away from the glacier to see this water. The hike up to the glacier is quite steep but not too long. You can views of...More

We did the guided walk to the glacier view point which everyone else did for free! Granted, they didn't get the commentary (Lisa was very informative) but......! The trek back to the carpark (via a secret bush track) was hopeless. Only 6 people in our...More

This was a great alternative to our cancelled Heli Glacier tour. The weather was horrible while we were in Fox Glacier, but it was still fun to get out and explore this beautiful place. You feel so tiny walking along the valley floor, it gives...More

We really enjoyed the beauty of a short hike, lots of people enjoy it also. Try to get there early to avoid the crowds.
