As a NZ Reisling fanatic, I have enjoyed Forrest's wines for sometime but this was my first visit to the winery. It didn't disappoint. Dr. John brought out no less that 6 Reislings for us to taste once he found out how much we love...More

Riesling remains a firm favourite with the winemaking team and the GrapeRide still an annual event.

Spoke with one of the managers at length about the history of the winery and the owner. The wines were appealing and the grounds were beautiful.

I liked this winery as the host met you at the vines and explained a little of what happens. The indoor seating area was nice and relaxing with some lovely leather sofas and comfy beanbags. Unfortunately I wasn't so keen on their wines and did...More

Thanks - John Forrest is a scientist by training and disposition so we are always looking for new varietals that might do well here in Marlborouigh. A lot of these are small batches and trialled on our cellar door customers only.

A lovely stop on our trip. Beautiful facilities with picnic tables, a sculpture garden and shady seating. We tasted several wines and made a purchase, though there was no pressure from the friendly, knowledgeable staff.

...makes this cellar door a unique and essential visit for the region. You must try / buy the Waitaki Pinot Noir from the John Forrest Collection. Very quaffable! The location is beautiful too.

Thanks so much. We definitely have a wide range - not just our quintessential Marlborough wines but those from our Central Otago, Waitaki Valley - North Otago and our Gimblett Gravels - Hawkes Bay offering. Our winemaking team are also very committed to R&D!

We came by Forrest towards the end of a great day of vineyard touring, and had a great time talking with one of the wine makers who was pouring for us. It's a beautiful location, and the wines are diverse and fantastic to try.

Thanks guys. We do offer a very cheap way to get wine all the way to your door in Australia for not much more than the cellar door price. Keep drinking the NZ wines.
