Called for a tasting - not many people there but we arranged for a tasting flight each. We didn't want Chardonnay as we don't like it but got some anyway. Worked our way through the tasting - the notes were well done and the presentation was good - we just didn't like the wines. Whether it was us or whether the wines were too young I don't know - but they just didn't gel with us at all. Not particularly welcoming either at the cellar door - just needed a smile or two to make it better.

It is a lovely setting amidst the vineyards. Lots of open space. The wine tasting samples 7 wines which is a good range but the amount of each wine was SO small that you cannot get a good sense of each wine compared to the others and paired with the cheeses. The cheese platter was very nice.

Lovely cellar door and grounds. Right off the bike path, very convenient to town. Get the tasting flight, sit outside in a beanbag, and you'll be very happy.

Great location and attractive indoor and outdoor venue with comfy seating, bean bags, close proximity to the beer garden and food vans. There was also really great live music to add to the atmosphere. The wine tasting is hands-off with 7 wines provided all at once on a flute and a short paper description of each. Suitable for those that want an impersonal, relaxed approach. We didn't enjoy the wines as much as at other places and didn't learn anything about the vineyard itself but would come here again for a sunny evening drink and burger.

Quite enjoyed the tasting though thought it could have been more educational. But it was well organised with pleasant people running the visit

Fantastic time at Forest wine were the best I had tasted. There is also a beer garden there and this has a great vibe. Wonderful setting in the sun, just magic. Went with th Hop on Hop off bus and had a blast.

We sampled the 7 wines with the optional cheese and biscuits. Very enjoyable and informative. Staff very knowledgeable about the wines which were delicious although the pinot noir is not to our taste.

Thanks - our staff Love sharing their wine interest and knowledge. We do have several other red wines - for next time. Just ask. John Forrest is always experimenting with new grape varietals..

We visited Forrest as part of the "Explore Marlborough Wineries by Bike" tour, operated by Explore Marlborough Wine Tours, booked via Celebrity Cruises. We had a fabulous experience here! Our tasting was conducted in the dining room where we were also served an excellent lunch - salmon, lamb, salad, vegetables, roasted potatoes - all perfectly executed! We tasted several wines, many of which were extra tastings. We learned so much from our wine guide, Rose - many comments about her name, and of course the wine! Lots of history here! Beautiful, modern, tasteful. Wonderful experience.

Had a seat on some comfy leather chairs in front of the open fire to taste some of the nicest and well priced wines! We ended up leaving buying several bottles and will be definitely be ordering more! The host was really knowledgeable and tried some wine varieties we have never heard of which was also very good! Couldn’t fault it!

When we arrived at the vineyard it was very busy, and got one of the last seating areas outside. We opted for the $15 tasting which gave us 7 different wines. However they were so busy we were given a print out with he tasing notes and left to it. Compared to all the other vineyards we visited, 7 in all, this was the least personal. This affected our visit and was such a disappointment as some of their wines were really nice.
