Beautiful family boutique cellar door operation
Had a lovely tasting here in early April as a part of the "Explore Marlborough Wineries by Bike" tour with Explore Marlborough Wine Tours. A true Cellar Door experience. The owners were both present, gave us so much information about the wines we tasted - and gave us several extra tastings. Very interesting to hear how a few airlines have purchased their wines such as Virgin Atlantic Airlines, to be served to their First Class passengers on select flights. We learned how this winery will only harvest their grapes by hand, a very small operation, a true family run boutique winery. The owners told us their life story, how they came to own Gibson Bridge - they were very friendly and welcoming! Their Pinot Gris is excellent, we enjoyed all of the tastings!

    Beautiful, friendly with excellent wines!
Stopped here as one of the stops on a wine tour. It was our favorite stop. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The tasting room setting is lovely. But the best is Julie and Howard’s story and how they have made their winery so unique. We loved it!

    A good choice
We only had one day to visit some vineyards and picked this one as we liked the idea of 'small, family run'. We turned up as a booked in couple arrived so timing was lucky. We thoroughly enjoyed the talk and tasting. Warm and personal and the wines were fantastic. We bought one bottle to drink that evening. I would highly recommend this vineyard for a visit.

Fantastic quality wine with very enthusiastic hosts!
Very passionate and proud of their wine and justly so! We stopped off here as part of a wine tour and Julie immediately came across as someone who wanted to tell you about the hard work and dedication she and her husband have put into their wines. I read one of the one star reviews and the reviewer said that the owner was rude because the reviewer “just wanted a drink”. Howard and Julie have dedicated their entire lives to making this multi award winning wine so to treat their wine as just a stop off for a drink seems quite insulting. You don’t need to be a wine buff or a connoisseur but at least respect what these two have created from literally nothing?? If you just want a fun drink go to a pub? The wine is amazing - Pinot Gris only - BUT not like any Pinot Gris you’ve had before. We ended up buying 2 bottles, the reserve and the blush and considering the quality, the price is extremely reasonable.

Arrived to find a tasting in full swing so were shunted into a side room where Howard decided to give us a run down on the vineyard and wines plus the family history. Laugh a minute with real dry humour - we encouraged him with plenty of backchat. The tasting we expected to take about 20 - 30 minutes must have gone for over an hour and we didn't mind in the least. Very proud of his Pinot Gris, seems to have a real dislike for Sav Blanc (can't say I blame him - horrible stuff - but I wouldn't quite describe it as "soaked lawn clippings with the addition of cats pee" - mind you he's not wrong - closest description I've ever heard). Excellent tasting thoroughly enjoyed by us all - worth going just to listen to him. We were allowed to liberate a few bottles for nightly use. Highly recommend a visit - very small tasting area - maybe phone to organise a time

Excellent small crop family vineyard producing delicious award winning Pinot Grigio
The owners (Howard and Julie) are so friendly and passionate about their land and their wine , they really are great to talk to and learn from . This is far from a routine cellar door experience!

The owners of this special vineyard are passionate about their wines. The wines are of exceptional quality and the owners take the time to explain the viticulture and nuances of each wine to you.

After endless, occasionally disappointing, Sauvignon Blanca produced in vast quantities it was refreshing to find a proper winery with an eye fir quality and creativity. Every wine was streets ahead of most others we’d tried and we ordered a mixed case of Pinot Gris immediately. Lovely chat with owner who was informative and welcoming. Excellent all round.

We booked an overnight stay through Maui. We were met by the owners Julie and Howard and their dog Guy. They were most welcoming and hospitable. We parked our motor home in an adorable setting with many trees and flowers overlooking the vines and a babbling stream. We enjoyed our wine tasting with Julie which was very informative and there was no hard sell. We found the wines excellent and purchased a mixed case. We were provided with an excellent picnic hamper which included a bottle of their wine which we chose and all was most enjoyable in such a beautiful setting.
