After searching the many different providers for the Otago Rail Trail, I settled on Bike It Now. I could not have had a better experience. Communication from BIN was clear and easy to understand . BIN designed a full itinerary exactly to my needs and nothing was left to chance. I was picked up from my accommodation in Queenstown and transported to Clyde, where I was greeted with such a warm welcome. Everything was thought about throughout the trail, even down to prebooking evening meals at local providers to ensure that we were secured a table for the evening. We included curling at Naesby into our itinary and this was amazing. Again BIN arranged transport and the local driver collected us and shared his knowledge of the area. Our bags were transferred each day and at the end of the trail, we were collected and transported back to Clyde. At the conclusion of the trail, we completed the Lake Dunsmore Trail and again, we had top notch service with pick up and delivery to the starting point. Accommodation along the trail was fabulous and catered well to our needs. BIN use local people to transport you along the trail where needed and they are genuine kiwis - friendly, helpful and great people.
We hired e bikes from BIN and they were fabulous bikes with specialised gel seats, - so no sore bums ! The team at BIN are amazing, where nothing is a problem. Everything is taken care of for you, you simply enjoy the ride.
I definitely recommend BIN if you are looking for amazing service by genuine caring people, who go out of there way to make your experience amazing.

We did the 4 day Central Otago Rail Trail self guided. From the moment we booked this all inclusive trip we felt we had made the right choice. All our questions were answered asap. We were advised prior to arriving of the places where we would have to book dinners, so saved stress when we arrived at a new destination. The shuttle from Queenstown to Clyde was on time and comfortable. When we arrived in Clyde the afternoon before starting the ride we were fitted to our bikes, another person then went over our itinerary explaining all the details and answering all our questions. Our bags were then taken to our accommodation while we rode our bikes there (a good way to get used to the bikes prior to the ride). We ordered step thru e-bikes which made the ride even better to have assistance when we needed it. All accomodation was an excellent standard, clean and tidy and breakfasts provided. Highly recommend using these guys.

So pleased you thought that we did a great job, things like responsiveness is key to operating in this small region to ensure that proposals are created that suits the group requirements. You are on holiday so the more we can do the better and you can just enjoy!

Our family recently completed a three-day cycling tour on the Central Otago Rail Trail, and Bike It Now made it absolutely perfect from start to finish!

The itinerary they put together was seamless and thoughtfully planned. Every accommodation stop was great, offering comfort and charm—just what we needed after a day of cycling. The e-bikes we hired were in excellent condition, making the journey enjoyable and accessible for all members of the family.

The team at Bike It Now truly went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. Their friendly service, attention to detail, and local knowledge made all the difference. We felt supported throughout the trip, allowing us to relax and focus on taking in the stunning scenery and making memories.

If you're considering cycling the Central Otago Rail Trail, we can't recommend Bike It Now highly enough. They turned a great trip into a truly exceptional one. Thank you, Bike It Now!

We did the Otago Rail Trail and the Lake Dunstan Trail - both were great and would recommend both. Fletch at Bike It Now took care of everything for us, ebikes, accommodation, detailed itinerary, even evening meals. Enjoyed the fact we could go at our own pace, stopping when we pleased and exploring the history of the area. 5 days for the Rail Trail is very cruisy (especially on e-bikes) - you could comfortably do it in 4 if you were a little pressed for time. All in all a lovely experience and highly recommend the trip and Bike It Now.

We were impressed and delighted with the competence of Bikeitnow people. They not only supplied us with excellent bikes, they also organised our accommodation, arranged bookings for dinner in remote places, provided shuttles where needed, and made a change to our itinerary to give us 2 nights in one place, which we requested rather late. In addition, they went to great lengths to recover and return a wallet and phone left in a nearby cafe. These folk not only know how to deal with every situation but do it with cheerfulness and enthusiasm - they really care that cyclists have a great journey! Oh, and the trail was very interesting and the distances suited us.

Bike it now set up all the logistics for a 2 day trip (Wedderburn to Clyde) including 2 nights of accommodation, bikes, restaurants, luggage handling and shuttle . Very friendly and helpful. The Otago central trail itself is excellent with great scenery, and interesting things to do and see . I would recommend e-bikes since it is a gravel trail and can have strong headwinds . It is an old railway line so gradients are moderate ; it is all off road and away from traffic. Bike it now has very nice equipment (both bikes and panniers for your day stuff) . Highly recommended for your NZ South Island itinerary.

I can only describe the organisation of this trip by Bike It Now as amazing. They arranged all accommodation, collection of bags and drop off at next destinaton and made suggestions and sometines booked venues for the evening meal. The time they spent with us going over the itinerary, suggestings suitable lunch cafes and advising us of things to be aware of was laudablee. All in all we had th greatest time. Thank you Fletch and the team. Kaye

We had planned to ride the Lake Dunstan Trail but as we were visiting in winter we decided to wait rather prebooking because we were unsure about the weather. So, we just showed up on the day and the staff were excellent. We were very quickly ble to get bikes, local advice and maps. We decided to ride the river trail to Alexander, then Roxburgh Gorge and Otago Rail Trail on the way back to Clyde. This trail was one of the 1 day trails suggested on the website. The bike were great, service was great, we are looking forward to coming back to explore further.

Bike it now, from start to finish were fantastic. Everything was done for us. From being collected in Queenstown to being dropped off again five days later, everything went off without a hitch. Communication with Fletch and Jan was easy and they were more than happy to make any changes if needed. Accomodation along the way was better than we thought it would be! All dinners had been pre booked and the food and hospitality did not disappoint. Our bikes were well maintained and easy to navigate. The trail is an easy ride, however, we decided at the last minute to get e-bikes for which we were grateful. It was nice to finish each day not feeling tired. Magpies were about for a lot of the trip, however, sunglasses and bike helmets didn’t entice them into any full swing attacks. Strong cross winds on our last day had us holding tight for a large part of the ride. We knew if we were unable to carry on, a rescue van was just nearby. What a wonderful way to see this beautiful part of New Zealand. High recommend!

Our family of 3 completed the 4 day Waipiata to Clyde Otago Rail trail through BikeItNow. Approx. 115km. Everything was meticulously planned beforehand including the transfers from Queenstown to Clyde and any question we had were answered - and I had a lot of questions. We were met by some lovely staff including Fletch, Andrew, Jeremy, Carl and John who took us through our briefing and bike set up. Due to my son being totally blind, my husband and him had a tandem. If only it was a e-bike.... I had an e-bike which I greatly appreciated. We stayed overnight in Clyde and the next morning transported to Waipiata and set free on our adventure.

Over the course of the 4 days we had a range of kms to complete each day, and although I particularly underestimated how sore my bum would be, we managed to accomplish each days task and have a lot of fun along the way. The track was in good condition and we stopped at the many ganger sheds along the way for water breaks and snacks. The weather was perfect.

Our luggage arrived each afternoon to our accommodation and everything was ready for us to unwind and relax after each day of riding. Wedderburn and Inverlair accommodation was a highlight. Omakau was a bit hit and miss due to being noisy and not set up like the other places we stayed.

The pubs were great for dinner at night and it was lovely to mix with the locals and other fellow bike riders and swap stories of the day.

We could see that the trail was set up for it to be done in the opposite direction to us..eg. Clyde to Middlemarch, whereby we did it in reverse. This was mainly due to some food stores not being open when we set off early in the morning to get ahead of the heat and could see they tailor for those coming the other way and arriving later in the morning. This was fine and our accommodation places helped us out with extra food to take on our journey.

The scenery was amazing and our son loved the bumpy bridges and the tunnels with their echo sounds. As a family we felt like we accomplished something out of our comfort zone especially having a son with a disability. It's not our normal thing to do this on holidays and with BikeItNow organising everything it made it seamless and fun. We are definitely considering another bike rail trail holiday in the future.

So pleased we could make this all happen for you and that it was almost seamless. It is key that we have trails that are as accessible as possible, the Otago Central Rail Trail is unique in that you can do this as a multi-day experience. We hope you get to experience this type of family adventure again in the near future.
