Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very knowledgeable guide. Fantastic opportunity to look behind the facade and learn about the technical details.

Was quite surprised by the size of the dam. Nice lookout to check it out with loads of parking. Has a board showing the history which was good.

Good stop off out of Clyde township with large parking area.

Birds eye view of the dam and surrounding area.

Kids loved this! The large information stand meant they could read and then check off visually all the parts. The visit birthed a looooooong conversation on power generation.

OK, it's not the Hoover or Aswan dam but it's a pretty big deal in this part of the world, and those of us of a certain edge will recall all the ructions at the time it was built. It's a short stroll from Clyde village so if you're there why not pay your respects to this monumental human creation which powers your toothbrush and food processor.

If you are visiting Clyde it is definitely worth while stopping off at the lookout by Clyde dam where you can get a great view of both the dam and the river down to the town.

I first visited before the dam was build back in the late 60's. I'm always a bit sad that the original town and orchards are under water now. At the same time it's great to create electricity and places for water sport.

Not really being into dams, it was a good trip there and back. The road was newish and easy to traverse. The scenic drive there was awesome. The dam itself is huge and good for those into this kind of thing.

Spectacular release of water when we walked up for a look when in Clyde. Good lookout for photos and parking area if in car.

Given the road goes right past, it is worth stopping a the lookout for a couple of minutes. Beyond that, just keep going and check out Clyde - very cute town.
