Coffee - very nice; toasted sandwich and toast very nice; Soup of the day - enquirer about food allergies in soup. Lady supposedly goes to ask - very abrupt and dragon like. Nice bowl of soup arrives - with previously stated allergens in it. Ten...More

Open 9-4 daily during the summer. Took the lifts (35 NZD each) at the end of December, and it was spectacular. The lifts take you right to the landscape used as Middle Earth in the Lord of the Rings. What fantastic scenery. Once up, you...More

We visited Whakapapa Ski Area for my daughter's 16h Birthday. What fun we had. The ski area is lovely catering to all levels of experience. Get your ski's & boots etc in town where you will pay better rates & get a wider variety.

We went last year for some great skiing! Will be back to NZ and do this again here. Be warned the weather is volatile and plan ahead around conditions if possible. No tree skiing on powder days here, it needs to be calm to ski.

Drove to the top of the mountain to take the chairlift to the highest cafe in the Southern hemisphere. Only one lift working and then only taking you half way up. No idea when the repairs would be carried out. A long way to go...More
