Overall we enjoyed our trip. My photo of the food is a classic case of “looks can be deceiving”. But we did have a few issues upon entering with our vaccine pass which they couldn’t scan so got into a slight delay. The duty manager was making it difficult for us upon entry, definitely lacks customer care.
Upon entering other staff were really good, I could see the contrast. We had meal tickets as well worth $60 as I found since last time I went, Rainbowsend no longer accept external food.
We went on most of the rides with our kids still in primary and they enjoyed it, staff there were fantastic and showed good customer care and keeping safety at the forefront of there job.
The reason why I’m rating this place so low is the food they have to offer. We ordered x2 burger
Meals, x1 hotdog meal and x1 nuggets meal. We paid $60. I didn’t find out until after we got home the total meal was $55 yet we got no change. But this I’m sure I can rectify with them.
The problem here was the quality of the food. I’ve been to really bad takeaways in my time and can say I’d never go back. But compared to what we got at Rainbowsend id rather order from those bad takeaways then eat there food again. Yes we all know it’s processed but it was just bad, bland, no flavour and covered in salt. The veges in the burger didn’t taste fresh like it’s been sitting in the open for the last few days. What boggles my mind
is the strict policy of no external food yet there food is not even good. Just bad, really bad. My dog wouldn’t eat it. This on top of the very costly entry tickets - you can DO BETTER!
If your going to have this policy at least make sure your food taste good especially for the price we paid. The only reason why I didn’t give it a one star is because of your hardworking well mannered staff that work the stations/rides, the low paying ones that should be getting paid more. Maybe pay the cooks less or change the policy. Remember with your food, you can’t polish a turd.

Was there with work mates for night rides, worst experience of our lives as we always spent 1 hour waiting on the line for a 1 minute ride. We only went to 4 rides due to long ques everywhere and then 20minutes to 11pm all the lines were closed. Their prices for night rides should be cheaper since it's only 5 hours 6pm-11pm otherwise have a limited amount of people to enter the park so that it is not too crowded in there and people can have fun.

Rainbows End, although it obviously unfair to compare it to world class theme parks, is very below average and could use a bit more love and attention.
The park itself is in bad shape. Everything is dirty and dismal for a self proclaimed 'magic' place. The majority of staff look like they are being held hostage, unenthusiastic and their work uniforms are old, faded, with some even falling apart.
The rides themselves are still good fun but when attending the park on a busy day, aren't really worth standing in line for. We were waiting in line for the Invader ride for 30 minutes only to be turned away when the ride closed... what a waste of time. We then waited in line for the Rollercoaster for 40 minutes only to be given less than a minute of ride time. We went during Orange Light and although I understand and respect covid protocols, it makes no sense to keep people on the rides a seat apart, yet let hundreds of people all cram next to each other waiting in line. The staff also 'sanitized' each seat after usage but just sprayed one lazy squirt on the seats, with most of the spray getting blown into the wind. They also did not wipe down the seats.
The park is very dirty, with alot of litter around and mold on the rides. We went on the log flume twice and both times found dirty used face masks on the floor of the logs, black with grime and rot. I couldn't understand why the staff had not removed these. The toilets are also in a terrible state, comparable to unkempt public toilets in lower income areas.
Also at a place for magic and fun, you shouldn't be able to see the other areas of Manukau city. When entering the park you can see sad looking Chinese food supermarkets, old closed off car parks and the Manukau Court house. The views from the fear fall are also pretty bleak and sad.
I understand Rainbows End is not on the same level as international high budget theme parks, but it does not cost alot to keep the place looking bright and happy, with welcoming staff and more vibrant colors. A new coat of paint on everything and some new clothes for the staff would work wonders. This is after all, one of New Zealands main tourist attractions.
Overall it is fun but is also very average and lacking of heart.

The park is perfectly equipped for young kids. We bought 2x tickets for the Kids Kingdom and Log Flume plus 2x Spectator/log flume tickets for the parents. Cost was under $150.
We spent more than four hours at the park. The kids were very happy. The food is terrible, but that’s no surprise for such a place with a captive market.
The key height appears to be 900 - 1200mm for the younger rides.
We went on a regular Saturday and didn’t experience too much queuing.

Queues too long... Children frustrated and cross with crowded place at capacity and long lines at over an hour wait for a ride. Left after a few hours of extreme disappoinment and frustration. Only went on a few kids kingdom rides despite having super passes.

Our family of four had a brilliant day at Rainbows End! We thought the lines would be huge given it was school holidays but they weren't - didn't have to wait for more than 5-10 minutes for rides and the staff manning the rides were all very friendly and efficient. We were also anticipating the food to be really expensive but it wasn't - our family had a really nice lunch at one of the cafes for less than $40 which I though was great value. There are plenty of places to eat and no problems finding somewhere to sit either inside or outside under the numerous shaded areas. Overall I thought the setup was great and it's not too spread out so you don't have to walk for miles to the different rides. We also thought the entry fee was very reasonable for the number of rides. The staff at the entry gate were lovely and very efficient at checking vaccine passes as well as ID to verify. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back!

We have been visiting this theme park since we arrived in New Zealand. It is an awesome place to spend a day with family and friends. They now have the Playlab that was opened in 2019 where visitors can play online/virtual games. You can just bring your own food and drinks and eat in your car if you don't want to spend on food and drink (a bit pricey inside). Be sure to inform the staff at the gate before going out so you'd be given a stamp.

We have been operating our decoration business for four years and are now compelled to address issues regarding the setup location at Rainbows End Auckland - Birthday Party Room. We also wish to caution other businesses in the setup industry about the following concerns:
Our clients invest significantly in our services, and we are committed to delivering high-quality results. Rushed setups compromise the aesthetic standards we strive to achieve.
Firstly, if clients only book the room for a specific time, you are allotted merely 10-15 minutes to move everything in. Given that setup typically requires 1-3 hours, this time constraint impedes our ability to maintain high-quality standards. Additionally, if we use an alternative room to prepare, we incur a charge of $20 per staff member, totaling $40 for one hour for our two staff members. This is first time after 4 years in decoration industry we have been charged for preparation.
Secondly, unlike other venues where staff are typically helpful and accommodating, the personnel at this location were notably unhelpful. We were instructed to transport our materials through outdoor areas rather than being permitted to bring them inside directly.
We hope this feedback assists others in making informed decisions and improving their operational experiences.

While this may be a small park it has a lovely feel to it and we had a great day. There are a variety of rides to suit all ages and the lines moved well so not much waiting time. The staff were friendly and the place is clean. The food is pretty standard theme park fare, good value in a meal deal for $13, ham and cheese toastie, chips and a drink. Worth a visit!

Grandkids of 12 and 14yrs enjoyed themselves. We bought the all day pass with unlimited rides. This is good value as then you can go to as many rides and as many times as you like. Of course it comes down to the length of the queue which was OK. You can bring your own picnic if you wanted so no need to buy food and drink once in there. Food price was reasonable but again watch for the queues. Us adults dis do most of the rides as an experience and was able to sit and have coffee when the grandkids wanted to do more rides. They also have an area for younger children (below 12 yrs) where the rides cater more to that age. Overall a good day out if you have kids under the age of 16.

What size are the lockers at Rainbow's End, please? (Wondering if we can do there with luggage on our way to the airport.)

Is there public transport to Rainbows End from Auckland CBD
Written 11 September 2018
Yes, the easiest in my opinion is the train, about 3/4 hour from central Auckland britomart to manukau on the southern line.
You can take a bus tho which will drop you off at manukau Westfield shopping centre which is over the road from rainbows end. I have no idea which bus numbers or routings are available however.
Hope this helps

How much would a group package be?

Hi there, we are at 2 Clist Crescent in Manukau if you are driving to Rainbow's End. If you are looking to take a bus we are just opposite the Westfield Manukau stop. Manukau train station is also about a 10 minute walk. Hope to see you here!
