Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a great day out with Harrison’s. A full day with stops at points of interest, beautiful coves, Cape Reinga and to top it off dune surfing and a ride down 90 mile beach. Gorgeous weather, lunch provided and a really enjoyable day. Jason our driver/guide was knowledgeable and always had a hilarious anecdote ( his words 🤣) to tell which made the trip even more enjoyable. Trip was on time and they will pick you up en route if you are in the area. I would recommend the trip and the company.

Value for money is frankly unreal. Excellent vehicle, stopped everywhere that mattered and stayed long enough to enjoy it. Guide Jason Font was funny yes which was awesome but he’s also really knowledgeable even if he hides it by lots of “so they say”!!! He knows what he’s talking about down to the biology (I’m a marine biologist and yep he had it right!). Totally recommend.

About a week out from our booking I rang with a question about when and where we'd be picked up from to start the tour - a simple question but the attitude was unbelievable. The lady (Sheryl) was so rude that there was no question I was imagining it - it seriously felt like she was purposely trying to sabotage the business and turn customers away. I've never experienced such out of no-where hostility. If that's how they dealt with a friendly question, I can't imagine how they'd deal with anyone who had a problem with their booking or during the tour!

There was no way after that I wanted anything to do with this company, so we cancelled our booking - then I checked other bad reviews... which normally I take with a pinch of salt... but they all had a common theme - awful customer service! We booked elsewhere - they were super friendly, fabulous BBQ lunch, and we had a fabulous day.

Awesome day trip that didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Definite highlights were seeing the Cape, driving on Ninety Mile Beach, and most definitely the same boarding at Te Paki (wish we could have stayed longer haha!). Jason was a fantastic guide and provided the perfect level of commentary at the right time. Great value for money and highly recommend!

What a brilliant day and brilliant guide we had....Selwyn was just filling in for the day but had been doing this tour over a long period, he was fun, very informative and just an all round cool guy.....we had a nice lunch which was provided, stopped at a local icecream shop, ice creams were huge and it amazed me that just about everyone on the trip bought one, sliding down the sand hills was great fun for those who made it to the top, it is no easy feat and we even stopped at a small country pub to see one of the America cup races.....was cancelled because of the lack of wind but it was fun having a quick drink with the locals
Great day

The three of us had a fantastic day and would highly recommend Harrison’s Cape Runner to anyone wanting to explore the very top of the north island without having to drive it themselves. Jason entertained us with his good humour and informative commentary. He was a carefully driver and explained how to safely toboggan down the sand hills which is a lot of fun. The bus was comfortable and clean. Probably not a bad idea to take a few snacks as it’s a nine hour round trip from Harrison’s Kaitaia depot, although a basic lunch is provided and you do stop at a small shop. Great value and a fun day.
