We went to the beach at 05.45 to watch the sunrise at low tide. Some parts of the beach were siply too hot, but we found a great spot to dih our hole and lie in the wrm water.

Plenty of parking and good toilets before walk across Hanei beach. Huge expanse os clean soft, golden sand. Perfect peaceful walking area.

It was a sunny day when we visited, however it was late September too, so a bit chilly in the morning. But with few crowds and spring blooms around, it was a wonderful walk. The rocks across on the beach look awesome with high tide.

Walked through the village and up the hill to the Te Pare Reserve which gives you amazing views back over the village and beach and then came down and walked along the beach back to the village. This is a beautiful spot and a lovely...More

In the morning was low crowds and peaceful to take in the spectacular ocean views! Properties overlooking the beach also looked amazing!

It's better to do in the morning, because it in afternoon the sea is high so we can't cross walking by beach, we have to turn back to the city, even though is a good place to visit, the landscape is woderful and there is...More

The scenery was beautiful and the rock formations were really interesting. There was a little shop for icecream. Love it

Whether sunrise or sunset, winter or summer such a gem. Careful not to disturb the NZ Dotterels making their home here now !
