Our family from Finland wanted to check out the Cathedral Cove so while waiting for them to check it out we thought we’d check out the beach. A beautiful place there is parking people don’t tend to stay long they just come for a swim...More

There's no particular unique attraction about this beach, it's just gorgeous. Sheltered for the kids, enormous, with space to get away from people. The only problem is parking. There is a very large new carpark at the entrance to town. It's then a 10-15 minute...More

A beautiful sandy beach with a stunning view. The beach is about 1500 metres long and is a beautiful relaxing walk at any time of the day, but sunrise is my favourite!

Easily one of the best beaches in New Zealand. I loved walking from one end to the other. The water was nice and cold, perfect to cool down because it was so hot today. It is a bit busy, but if you walk a bit...More

Drink up the views on Hahei beach - we thought it gorgeous at sunset and then again at sunrise and during the day. The beach is deep, giving plenty of room to run or play or build sand castles. There are stunning coastal rocks, New...More

It was horrific to find the beach and the parking lot is very far away. Luckily we found a shuttle bus that charges $5/pax otherwise don’t think we could have managed in the sweltering heat. However the walk to cathedral cove was good as it...More

We went to the beach at 05.45 to watch the sunrise at low tide. Some parts of the beach were siply too hot, but we found a great spot to dih our hole and lie in the wrm water.

Nice walk, you will definitely not not tired visiting and have a walk in Hahei Beach. Suitable for children.

Plenty of parking and good toilets before walk across Hanei beach. Huge expanse os clean soft, golden sand. Perfect peaceful walking area.

It was a sunny day when we visited, however it was late September too, so a bit chilly in the morning. But with few crowds and spring blooms around, it was a wonderful walk. The rocks across on the beach look awesome with high tide.
