Really appreciated not having to do the walk back. Service was timely and professional. No hesitation in recommending.

A Quick Ride
Jan 2020
This quick 5 -10 minute water taxi to Cathedral Cove is worth it if your feet ache too much to walk the trail. Cathedral Cove is beautiful and a "not-to-be-missed" destination. Or walk one way through the Fern Forest and take the taxi the other way. The Fern Forest is a must see part of the Coromandel Peninsula too.

So useful!

My friend hurt his foot while walking out to cathedral cove so we got a taxi back - the staff are so friendly and helpful, speedy return to hahei and nice to see the coast from a boat too!

Highly recommended, time saver
Jan 2020
This saved a lot of time. We took it one way into Cathedral Cove and walked back on the trail. It looks like there is usually a queue for the return visit from Cathedral Cove back to the car park (so get in line early or buy tickets soon after arriving at Cathedral Cove), but there was no wait for the ride into Cathedral Cove from the car park.

Unreliable. Don’t plan your cathedral cove walk around it
Nov 2019 • Couples
Totally calm day. Got to Cove on foot. Waited for water taxi. After over 30 minutes no sign of it. Rang the number to get message that no service due to weather conditions. Wonder if in fact due to low numbers of tourists. Don’t market yourselves as a service always running every 30 minutes.

Hi there. Understand your frustration. Unfortunately we can't run when there is too much swell, as it's just not safe and too difficult to land a 4T of boat on the beach. There are good numbers of tourists around and we'd love to be working. We state on our signage we are weather dependant and to please call the number prior to check whether we're working, or not, to avoid disappointment. Thanks.

Amazing

Wow so cool..... we decided to take the water taxi to Cathedral Cove and on board was Hayden and Katy, which were both superstars and were so lovely. We got dropped at the cove and decided to walk back, what an amazing way to spend the day.

But you can do it either way or both ways, this is a great service with an amazing team which allows people to see the cove without the walk and the amazing coast on the way to the cove.

We are kiwis and would highly recommend this company.

Thanks again team

A truly spectacular place to visit, if you don’t feel like the long walk these guys are extremely friendly and helpful and the drop off is close to where you need to be

A beautiful day, a road trip over 2 hours, a carpark that is shut off and a boat taxi that stops operating when ever they feel like it... So heads up. Saw the water taxi leave the beach at around 12:30pm today while having lunch while we weighed up all our options. Hadnt see the taxi so looked it up, was much cheaper the most, but it did not come back. We even walked the entire beach to find them. No luck after 30 minutes. Rang the number to find out and the auto message says they are not operating. Wow... skipper must of had something better to do then take people back and forward like a real human would be paid to do. No real times anywhere to be found that i can see so he isnt really false advertising then is he. Poor service, from one kiwi to another.

Morning Mr Happy. That is quite an impressive rant, well done! Actually we were off the water all day yesterday due to mechanical issues, and the "taxi" you saw was a tour boat running a totally different service. It's a shame you've used this platform to review something you didn't even use, and from one kiwi to another, you have really added to the discredit of trip advisor. But I'm not here to defend myself, or anyone else, I just hope your week improves after what sounds like an absolutely horrendous day in Hahei. Not sure what else could have gone wrong, horror stuff. We'll be back out there today though, so if you're around we'd be only too happy to charge you for a trip to the Cove. Cheers, Hayden

Essential service for Cathedral Cove but extremely overpriced. We were in the water taxi with 11 other people for no more than ten minutes ( max) and were charged $70 for four adults and a 3 yr old child.
There were no reductions for under five year olds or seniors. They have a captive market as the majority of travellers on our trip had walked to cathedral cove but the walk back was too daunting. The water taxi is the only other choice and they are cashing in on this situation .

The boat was not balanced and the customers should have been seated appropriately as on our trip the boat was listing to starboard - all it needed was one person to be moved to the port side . Not rocket science!!
