Take your time and take in the landscape on the way this is a great walk with a great beach to end it at. Try the walk from Hahei beach rather than starting at the top car park.

Take your swimming togs for a swim once you reach Cathedral Cove. Wide, sealed path makes for easy walking but with some hills and steps. Take your time and enjoy!

This is a wonderful area in which to walk - but the walk from the carpark to the cove itself is not always easy - some were doing it in jandals - I think some form of walking shoe is better. The cove is absolutely...More

Always good to come out here and get away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland. The place is well maintained and photogenic.

First off, yes, it is quite a walk there. Yes, parts are steep. Yes, wear sensible footwear and be reasonably fit. But also, enjoy the walk. The Cove isn't the only thing; the walk is also beautiful. Take your time and enjoy it. Re parking,...More

We caught the bus from the shops near Hahei holiday resort for $5 per person return. Alternatively you can catch it from the main car park if you have your vehicle and are not staying nearby. Arrived at the top car park where the lookout...More

This is a lovely walk for about 45 minutes from Hahei campsite to the cove. It’s a little strenuous at times walking uphill but the views are incredible. The cove is a bit busy in summer months but the water is lovely.

It took us 35min to walk one-way from the Hahei beach entrance. Take water to drink with you. There is also a water taxi from Hahei beach to Cathedral cove $15 pp each way. Cathedral cove is very busy but well worth it. Take your...More

That's correct. Don't waste your time time trying to find a park at the top of Grange Road. Enjoy the walk from the Hahei Beach

The walk itself is well paved. At the end, though, is a series of stairs. You'd have to carry the pram/baby down those stairs. But the view is remarkable.
