All reviews car park water taxi cathedral cove minute walk beautiful beach new zealand nice walk well worth the effort walking shoes flip flops limited parking takes about minutes shuttle bus natural beauty low tide take your time stunning views
With a short walk from the car park to the beach, it is very easy to access. the beach itself is clean, neat, and undisturbed. Bet to go at low tide to make sure you can safely walk through the cove and back again.
Cathedral cove is the highlight but it is worth stopping at the other 2 bays as well. It is quite a walk down which is harder on the way up but was well worth the effort. When i went the sea was quite rough so...More
I never tire of walking to the cove and back. The paths are wide & easy walking but with a few steep hills. Go early morning to miss the crowds. I found 8am the best time to walk & for the best photo opportunities.
Absolutely stunning. We caught the ferry across so this photo is the view from boat to land. Don’t even think about visiting Cathedral Cove “the 8th wonder in the world “ JUST DO IT!! I heard the walk down is around 60mis and I would...More

Hi. From the Hahei carpark it's about 45 minute walk one way. Alternatively you can park closer to the start of the walk. Some locals charge $10 to park on their property. From there it's a 30 minute walk. Enjoy!
