Even though it's a little Bit of a hike to get down there and can be a struggle for parking it is worth it! Bring your picnic baskets and swimwear and make a day out of it.

I've been to the cove many times over many years. It is a lovely walk and has recently had the track tarselled probably due to popularity and easier maintenance. So it's much quicker to walk. It's still lovely. Bring some water as it can get...More

Stunning walk and the rock formation is just amazing. It is a generous 45 minute walk. Do take water.

The walk in on the track is okay easy, so long as the track isn't closed for maintenance as it seven we visited. We had to detour down a muddy side track for part of the walk. When you get there it is truely magical...More

Cathedral Cove is on everyone’s To Do list, and features in so much publicity, but it is still literally breathtaking when you visit it. There’s a pretty long trek in - around 45 minutes - and that’s downhill, so it’s harder work coming back. We...More

One of the best spots in north island of NZ! There are many photo opportunities and the rock formations are just amazing! It's a moderate walk with steps and slopes - we have 2 young children and a 60yo and they had to take a...More

It was a lovely walk to Cathedral Cove. A bit unfortunate that it's a sealed track all the way. I prefer a unformed track.

Quite a full on walk! Couldn't get a park at the top of the hill so parked down at beach and walked to the cove. Took a good hour but well worth it!!! NZ is a very special place!

We beat the crowds down to the cove. Watched the sunrise at 7am then straight to the cove car park. At this time of day there was plenty of parking but I would imagine in busier times it would be hard to get a park....More

The walk itself is well paved. At the end, though, is a series of stairs. You'd have to carry the pram/baby down those stairs. But the view is remarkable.

We saw the water taxi arriving at the Cove. I don't remember a jetty for the passengers to disembark. You'd need to check when you drive trough Hahei on your way to the Cove. Sorry this response is going to be too late for... More
