Terrible place on a bank holiday. Esp if you want to sit in car for more than time spent in the place

A well presented museum spread over a large area. The workers cottages are worth a visit and you need to allow plenty of time to see the videos inside the impressive building in order to fully appreciate the exhibits. The café was very reasonable.

An excellent exhibition with lots of interesting exhibits for all ages. Many of the exhibits are accompanied by instructional and educational videos. A great day out whatever the weather.

Trip on a tram, trip down the mine, and the set up of the old houses when “great granny” was a weee girl! Outside play park. Canal smells a bit but all part of nature!
