An enjoyable visit with my 2 young granddaughters (6 and almost 4). The new librarian was very engaging. He read multiple books, and in between the children sang songs with him, and there was a puppet show at the end. A fun way to spend time inside on a cold day. There were also toys to play with and a large book selection. The library has some historic artifacts throughout which caught the girl’s attention.

I spent a few days perusing their collection of Alcott holdings. The general part of the library is very quaint and the perfect place to rest and read.

This is a wonderful public library. It has a great traditional feel and look plus many of the newest library services like a seed library. The highlight was the special exhibit that focuses on the women who were influential in Thoreau's life.

It's a perfectly good little library, in an attractive building, but it is much too noisy. And a great part of the noise is produced not by the patrons, but by the staff in the area behind the circulation desk -- constantly talking at a volume level that is totally inappropriate in a library. It's no surprise that the kids in the building haven't learned suitable library manners -- and they certainly have not -- when the librarians themselves have forgotten them.
