There's nothing like an old fashion bookstore. This place is great and it's fun to wander around and get lost for an hour looking through their great selection. They also offer some used books. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I always love finding independent bookstores and asking for recommendations. The staff here were not particularly helpful - one said he didn't read fiction and suggested I try somebody else who was not particularly interested. A book with a staff recommendation label was out of...More

After my Harvard Tour it was only right to visit the Harvard book store. Not as impressive layout wise as the Coop but impressive on selection. I enjoyed perusing the shelves so much I went back the next day to make my purchases. The staff...More

Visited years ago. This is still a paradise for nerds of all types. The upstairs is all new books and the dungeon below, a treasure trove of used books of all kinds. So fun to see it again and spend an hour browsing among the...More

If you are visiting Harvard Square, and want to see a real local bookstore, forget the coop, which is a re-branded Barnes and Noble. The Harard Bookstore is the real deal. A classic independent bookstore with a good pulse on the local community -- namely,...More

I order all my books through Harvard Book Store now just to support them. Their speaker series is incredible, their selection is excellent, their staff is genuinely enthusiastic, and they really work to foster a sense of community. Just a perfect all-around book store.

The Harvard Book Store offers a wide selection of new and used books. Interesting, high-quality hardcover and paperback books. Used books on the lower level. Plenty of helpful staff.

Not many independent bookstores like this one anymore; feels almost like an anachronism. If you are in the area, stop by and see stacks of books!
