Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The source of the Sorgue River starts right about the very picturesque town of Fontaine de Vaucluse. There is a road and path along the river from the town. This is one of the most beautiful small towns I have seen. You will see some waterwheels in the river as well as an old Papal castle in ruins above the village. Walk along the river to the source and you will have excellent scenery.

The Source flows out at the top of the walking trail lined with shops and cafes from the town center. The stream emerges from under the cliffs and flows through the canals of L'Isle sur la Sorgue and beyond.

As it has been raining intermittently en Provence for two weeks, I thought a Sunday afternoon drive to Fontaine de Vaucluse would be a good outing. It was awesome. The cave opening is completely covered in. Water was almost up to the lower viewpoint at the end of the trail. The river through the village is overflowing it’s banks in places. Great place to visit NOW.
Take sandwiches...there are some picnic tables in the parking lots by the river and public toilets at the trail head.

Nice walk to it following the river, in summer there is just a rock face and dry river bed. The artisinal building which you pass on route has a working paper mill, and a baker selling the biggest and best meringues ever.

This is a short walk from the town that bears it’s name. Although the source only emerges right from under the cliffs in March with glacial meltwaters, the source does amazingly create a full size river in About 100 metres as it rushes out of the ground. Cliffs that surround are impressive as is the clear water. Apparently the biggest spring in France .

If you happen to be in the area and need a pitstop for breakfast, lunch or coffee, it is certainly a beautiful stop with the river going through the heart of the town.

Nice brook and waterfalls. The water had a lot of emerald green plants in it. Cliffs around it are full of holes/caves.

Bonne promenade 😉
