The Airborne Museum, situated in the square of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, a few miles from D-Day landing beaches, facing the church where John Steele famously was caught, relates the heroic adventure of paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division. Through a spectacular museography, the Airborne Museum takes you through the D-Day alongside American paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division. From the invasion preparations in England through the battles for liberation, meet the Airborne troops and accompany them on their journey to Victory.

The exhibits were so realistic, and the displays were well done. I wished I had had more time to spend here, but it was part of a full day excursion, so I had a time deadline. The headsets made the experience more enjoyable too. Well...More

One of the best WW 2 museums I have been to. The attention to detail, the personal accounts and the tragedy that is war are all depicted in a remarkable way. The exhibits are first class but perhaps more emotive are the individual histories of...More

This museum is a 'must do' when in the region. Probably one of the most complete musea on WWII in Normandy. Focusses on the heroes of the 101 and 82 Airborne Divisions but also delivers a broader view on Operation Overlord and WWII. Interactive and...More

This is a great museum, even after visiting a huge number of museums already on our trip. The displays are interesting and well thought out. The interactive guide is great, not just for kids. There are some interesting videos along the way too. Not sure...More

I added Utah Beach and Ste Mere Eglise to our itinerary at the last minute - we were driving up from Mont St. Michel and had about 5 hours for Utah Beach before everything closed. So glad we did this and I wish we had...More

This is one of the best museums to see all the equipment and get a great perspective of what really went on during and just after D-Day. There are a lot of museums in Normandy, but plan to visit this one (and spend at least...More

A must see museum if you are traveling to the Normandy area and visiting the invasion beaches. Although I have studied and read many books about Operation Overload, etc.. you cannot fully comprehend the bravery of these young men who fought to liberate France from...More
