Love this place! Finally got to see the finished Japanese Butterfly Garden. It was so unreal to have these beautiful, delicate creatures land on you. Sampled the fried mealworms and they were surprising tasty. Many local chefs created dishes with insects for sampling. The artistic...More

Especially enjoyed the exhibits on how insects impacted life in New Orleans, the café with a chef creating wax worm cornbread and mealworm gumbo. Very tasty. Tables very creative. Enjoyed the 4-D theater and butterfly atrium. An enjoyable experience

If you are looking for an educational museum for 3 to 4 hours this is a good place to go, especially for childen. Very educational on insects with interactive displays. At the end there is a butterfly hatchery with several butterflies to admire.

A show of great interest to those who enjoy the insects around us. Butterfly Garden is at the back of the Gift Shop--don't miss stepping into Their World and being surrounded by beautiful varieties of butterflies in a rain forest like atmosphere.

Three 30-year olds thoroughly enjoyed themselves. So interactive, so interesting and a lot of fun. Definitely do the 10 minute interactive movie (too cute).

I spent a week in NOLA, and this was by far my favorite thing - and I was absolutely in love with everything else! I am a science nerd and this definitely hit the spot. Highly recommended!

The insectarium itself is good, not as big as we thought it was going to be. The butterfly garden at the end made it SO worth it. If it’s a busy day I can see it being a bit packed as that area is small...More

Our party ranged in age from 6 months to 75 years, and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The insectarium is well managed and staffed, and their docents were well trained and welcoming. We had an energetic 2 year old in our party who was absolutely...More

We went early on a weekday and the place wasn’t too busy which was great. I was able to read all the information and interesting tidbits around the gallery. Exhibits were very cool, plentiful, looked well maintained and some of them were extremely creative. I...More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
