Don't eat in the restaurant of the fishermen on the beach IN FRONT OF Life is a beach bar!
We agreed on a price for a lobster per kilo and they double the price.
The service is awful and they don't speak a single word of English.
We ordered 2 beers several times, a plate of clams and a lobster with some rice and veggies.
The beers never arrived, nor the rice or veggies, just a the plate of clams and plain lobster with no side dish, even if we showd the picture of rice many times. As we wanted to go away and paid the price of the lobster was doubled and we paid €26 for the dinner not even with drinks or rice!

Beautiful location but two nearby ugly resort developments are trying to claim the beach as private ( I was told that actual the beach is owned by the village) but expect off putting signs an security guards. In the village the obnoxious in you face hotel called The Hidden Jewel is an ugly tower block of around 8 floors that dominates the sykline of low rise village at the point where it meets the vbeach. I was i told it was planned as a 2 storey building but allowed to be built so high as a result of a bribe.

Is this the best beach you'll ever see? No. But it's decent. The scenery with the red rocks is beautiful. The waves are quite strong, but maybe it's because of the season (October). Weirdly enough, no shells, almost no crabs, nothing... The pollution is under control but this is mainly because hotels (namely, the AVANI) clean it up. Two restaurants are cheap and fairly good. The simplest one, Life's a beach, is in a fun setting, there's even a pool table, but food is quite average. The second one, Wood fired kitchen, is better and a bit more expensive. It might be difficult to get a table in the evening as all of the guests of the Avani go there to eat.

Just a very small & rocky beach and difficult to get to. Don't even think of going in the water there! Not worth the trip even to see unless you've never been to an ocean before. There are a few over priced old dirty huts and bar in the area to drown your sorrows and crash there if needed. What ever happened to honest advertising???

I have been here twice, during noon time which the place was empty and at around 5 PM where local people take also a swim. The place would be beautiful if they would respect more the nature and not throw rubbish around the beach. Little by little this won't be nice anymore. More there is build a very big resort on the same beach which doesn't really fit with the natural landscape. Or people behave and respect the environment or this in 10 years will be just a dump.

Go out of the two touristy western backpacker restaurants with average food that is over priced. Take a right at the top of the hill on to the main road and on the left find the chicken restaurant 'Bon la quan' they have a lot to choose from but get the chicken BBQ the marinade is divine and so is the dipping sauce, we ordered some clams as well and the BBQ chicken comes with a noodle soup with all the chicken bits. We were told we would have to wait a a bit as they needed to catch the chicken first...love it.
Such good service amazing food lovely local family, singing karaoke and having a chat at the end of the night. Take the walk up the hill you won't be disappointed! Grab some of your backpacker pals or your partners in crime and spilt the bill with a chicken BBQ. Or give him a call and he will come get you from the two backpackers on the beach. Wonderful, we will definitely come back again.

Relatively unknown with only a couple of places to stay. Great bar/restaurant called Life's a beach. Water is relatively clean and most days it is very clear. Good snorkeling and no crowds.

One of a series of quiet beaches outside of Quy Nhon. Great for an explore if you want something out of town. The beach is out front of a small village, so you can easily secure a feed, and a room if you want to stay a bit longer. Try the The Haven if they aren't full.

I walked down into the village from the main road. The lanes are narrow and the locals go about their business as you walk through. They are not particularly hospitable and I got the feeling that foreigners were not really welcome.
I ended up on the fishing village beach which was picturesque with boats moored in the bay. The walkway along the beach was full of paraphernalia for their lobster farms. Most of the lobsters in this part of Vietnam are farmed in large cages suspended in the sea. Having taken a few photos I then started to walk back to the main road. I missed a turning and found myself on Bai Xep Beach.
It was in a lovely setting but not very clean. There were a number of foreign back packers enjoying the local shell fish. Oysters are incredibly cheap at about $3-4 a dozen.
The guest house ‘Life’s a Beach’ dominates the village part of the bay and further up is the Avani hotel. I must admit that I didn’t have the same problem as a previous reviewer and was able to walk past the Avani go around the rocks and arrive at the new Anantara Villas Resort.
I got the feeling that if the locals kept throwing their rubbish into the sea as they have possibly done for generations in the hope that it may deter foreign visitors.
It’s worth a visit but don’t go too far out of your way.
