This was such an enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by lovely Made and she guided us throughout, patiently answering our many questions and explaining everything beautifully. It is a fantastic insight and experience of traditional Balinese village life. We were positively encouraged to partake in activities and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lunch provided was fabulous, and then we were entertained by the young girls performing traditional dances. Perfect day.

Warm and kind staff, good activity and very traditional feel to it. It takes you to visit the nearby local school, local Balinese houses (see Balinese at their homes and see local activities such as making offerings, rice cakes, see the house complex, understand the meaning of each compounds, etc).

Second activity is rice farming, ploughing the field with water buffalo (you can ride it as well), paddy planting, farming etc. The view is fabulous especially in a clear blue sky. Warning - it might get hot and humid. They will also pick fresh coconuts for you and you can drink it. Everything is fresh as it can get.

Joining this program you will undertand real Balinese way of life, how some houseworks and duties are assigned for female and others for male. Plenty to see, observe and experience, in a simple and quite an entertaining way.

The lunch has lots of local touch to it too.
Easiest 5 stars from my book so far!

We have had a great tour with a lovely guide. We saw different sites, got a lot of information, could try a few things ourselves and ended with a great lunch. Our kids really liked the tour also and were playing with the Balinese girls. A lot of love can be found here.

This half day visit is well worth doing. You will visit a working village and be shown round by a guide seeing various parts of daily life and meeting a number of the villagers.

We started with a visit to the school where the second graders sang to us. Then we sat with some women to make temple offerings from leaves. Next we made some flowers/ birds from leaves, saw around a typical family compound and heard about cock fighting. In the fields we got mucky and helped with ploughing and rice planting. Well worth the experience alone!! Then we saw the fruit/veg that was grown and were amazed by a 73 year old man climbing coconut trees to gather coconuts. We tried fresh coconut and were then served a three course local lunch.

If you get a chance then visit. You won't regret it!!

Friendly staff, interesting tour. We visited a school, a home compound, and garden. Got the opportunity to plant rice. Then we had a traditional lunch. To top it off, they sent a driver to pick us up in Sanur.

A MUST go to in Bali. Such an incredible experience. Truly authentic and unlike other tourist spots, you get to actually interact with locals and learn from them traditional Balinese life and culture. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious!

I visited with my 2 daughters while my husband went on a scuba diving trip. They sent a car to pick us up at our hotel in Sanur and brought us back at the end of the day. This was the most memorable experience we had in Bali! Thank you to our guide, Made Rose, for showing us the "real Bali."

First, we visited the school. We were lucky to be there on a Thursday, when the kids dress up in their Balinese outfits. The kids sang for us (their English was excellent) and they greeted us one by one, shaking our hands. They wanted to see pictures of snow on our phones and they gathered around with excitement when we showed them pictures of New York City, where we live. After the school, we made offerings, helped make rice cakes to dry in the sun, saw how coconut oil is made, saw the farm animals, watched the roosters practice for the cockfight, and then rice field. Once there, we rode behind the cows flattening the paddy, and then got real muddy learning how to plant rice. After that, we toured the vegetable, fruit and herb garden, ate fresh coconut and cacao beans, and were finally treated to a delicious and hearty lunch consisting of a variety of Balinese foods.

We were so thrilled to be able to have this amazing experience! It was the highlight of our Bali trip, and I highly recommend this experience, especially for families. Thank you so much, terima kasih, to the warm and wonderful people in the village! Your hospitality made this a memorable experience!

This is an purposely small scale activity in a somewhat remote area that provides a wonderful glimpse into daily life. We visited during the low season and got an extensive tour of the school, the family dwellings, and the rice fields. Getting to share skills & traditions with the local people is both humbling and inspiring. Walking through the fields it's impossible not to be impressed by the agricultural heritage. The included lunch easily rivalled some of the best food we had during our stay in Bali, while the memories are some of the most rewarding. Highly recommended.

We did a day trip here with an overnight stay. Every part of the experience was great! From meeting the kids in the primary school, making decorations & rice crackers with the ladies, standing knee-high in the dirt to plant rice, an evening walk around tje village and helping with the cooking of our dinner. We loved every bit of it. The ladies were all very friendly (even spoke a good bit of Dutch) and hospitable. We would recommend this to all who want to have a more traditional stay away from the hectic and busy city.

A lot of things to do in a local farm So you get an idea how Balinese farmers live. Several things you can do it by yourself. We suggest also for family with children.
