Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely beach with access to the water by the Bio Rock office. The water was very cloudy so we couldn't see very much. Maybe if you dived you may have had a better view. Saw some coral & small fish but had to look hard. It is a lovely village & would return.

This was the best part of our recent trip to West Bali. We went snorkelling on the bio rock everyday, sometimes twice. Each time it was a unique experience. You can easily hire mask, snorkel & fins at Karang Divers, which is next to the Biorock office.

The beauty of diving on the biorock is that it is less than 50m off the beach. It is a rocky shoreline at low tide but there’s a sandy section opposite the Biorock office.

Once you are under the water it is like another world, we spent over an hour each time floating above the underwater sculptures surrounded by schools of colourful tropical fishes. One time we had a school of fishes who adopted us following our every move as we swam from sculpture to sculpture, nibbling on our fingers and legs. Another time we were on a coral outcrop watching a sea turtle graze on the reef.

We found the best times to dive on the Biorock was early in the morning at low tides. The afternoon dives when there wasn’t much turbulence and sediment were just as good.

If you in Pemuteran than you absolutely have to swim out and explore the Biorock - it is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had in Bali.

The Biorock project was better than we expected. Great to see our contribution with the baby corals attached to the frame. Some were 20+ years old . The water was.murkybon day 1 so couldn't see with snorkel. Day 3 my friend and I dove and saw the amazing metal shapes. Highly recommended. Would be nice to see more corals attached to each name, but maybe they have a process. Or maybe put a date on the metal frame so one can see the progress. A metal date eg 2023 May...

The safety dive check was also good. Good to ensure people who dive have PADI qualification. This is a must I believe.

We were here in 2004 when they were researching the idea - we have come back this year to see if it worked and Voila! It is amazing 12 cultures of iron on which the coral has grown beautifully with plentiful and large fish, happily at home

Freaking AWESOME. Just off shore. Lots of structures. Magical.
No matter where you are staying in Bali, it is worth the drive or a few nights nearby.

This project grows new coral around some man-made structures (very creative and beautiful) and using electricity increases the coral growth. It looks very promising, the underwater life is growing nicely.

We thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling on the reef, it is so different and amazing to see the recovery on the reef. We got to see an abundance of sea life.

I'm giving this 5 stars cause its free and a real achievement for Bali. I didn't see the entire thing but what I saw was some small outcrops of coral on man made frames and a few tropical fish. We saw this the day after the natural reef and whilst it didn't compare to that it was still time well spent. I imagine it will get better every year. It wasn't polluted the day I went though I believe at some times it is. The locals and tourists alike physically remove plastic from the ocean there and it may be helping. Probably better at low tide but we were mid tide and it was still good.

Big thanks to whoever create and contribute to this spot. Now everyone can enjoy seeing starfishes, wide range of corals, and many other fishes when they visit Pemuteran.

Shallow and easy five, that has a lot of interesting small staff. The site is good for macro mostly.
