This is the oldest cemetery still standing in Savannah, it's the final resting place of Button Gwinnett a signer of the Declaration of Independence. I come to Colonial Park frequently to take wet-plate photos and relax.

My wife and i walked throughout Savannah, GA and ended at the biggest park there. The Cemetary is a great destination!

If you get a chance to take a tour of the cemetery, do it with a guide. Don't miss this place, most all the tour guides in Savannah are pros, it is better at night,

Interesting place during the day, creepy at night, but again worth a visit. The entrance is majestic and inside you can see a dark, yet realistic sight of the history of the city.

Colonial Park Cemetery was one of the places we learned about on the Hop-On, Hop Off Trolley in Savannah. It is very old, and contains the graves of many of Savannah's earliest citizens. A signer of the Declaration of Independence lies here. Outstanding to me...More

I went to snap photos after dark. The only problem was that security locked up us out at 8:00. Very historical place though.

We walked all around this cemetary looking at the headstones. The headstone age of some of the deceased are quite old. Trees and benches for shade and to take a load off. Very relaxing.

Interesting cemetery, as along the back wall there are a bunch of headstones all lined up. Great for photography. I would recommend stopping there and strolling about the beautiful grounds.
