Part of the Fort Necessity battleground. Great recreation of the tavern/Inn that served the National Road, complete with articles of the time in the original setting. Short self guided tour.

Toured this after going to Fort Necessity. We really enjoyed all the information provided. It would be great if they had someone at The Tavern to answer questions and provide more info, however we still enjoyed it tremendously.

Very unique place to have a glimpse of life over a century ago! Rooms are set up as it would've been were you a traveler back then.

You can either do a short walk or ride from Fort Necessity. I must say I was rather dissappointed. It looks great from outside. Inside is very moldy smelling. You have to view the glass enclosed rooms from narrow doorways. The items in the rooms...More

House smelled strongly of mld and rooms were all behind glass. Stop when at the Fort but don't plan to linger.

This site is a steep hike from Fort Necessity, but you can drive to this site separately. It was good to see the accommodations of the period's patrons.
