I'll let my pictures do most of the talking, but I've never seen a more impressive library! So much history all throughout the building. It's true, you can't go any higher than the 1st floor. I'm positive this is for protecting and preserving the old...More

Absolutely beautiful room where you just want to stay and linger. Now accompanied by a small but nice exhibition about the book collection. Entrance is via the main entrance of the Peabody institute.

This place is amazing! They often have weddings and stuff here, because it is so pretty. It is often the background image of some web or show. It feels like you're in a Harry Potter movie or something like that.

Stopped in to check out the historic Peabody Library. Not a computer in sight, old card catalog, stately furniture. Free to see, sat there for a while to soak it in and relax.

This is a very special place, and somewhere I have been wanting to see for a very long time. We visited while there were renovations going on. It was still amazing, but with the noise and dust, it was not particularly a place that was...More

If you're a book lover this is a must-see -- the library is stunning. Yes, you can only access the first floor, but there were plenty of books to see -- plus an old card catalogue (fun to look through). There is an outer room...More

There are librarians there. Perhaps if you call ahead and ask for a special tour - you may get it. Otherwise, you are indeed restricted to the first floor. It is a real shame. But as everyone has said - it is truly... More
