I was fortunate enough to get to visit this revered site on the anniversary of his passing. Poe’s works have been instrumental in my life from the time I could read, and Westminster takes the spooky cake.

Very cool to learn about things I'd not heard or read of before. The staff is incredibly kind and very welcoming of questions and sharing information.

This is a very old cemetery with some very interesting grave sites. A grave for Edgar Allen Poe and his wife and daughter is right inside the gate. His original grave is also marked behind the church.

Poe is buried at a small church yard near Lexington Market. There are actually two graves, the earlier is smaller at the back of the lot, don't miss it.

A police officer was closing the gates at 6 pm in the summer to the cemetery and let us in before he locked it.
