This is great to visit when you are staying an extended time in Gettysburg. The battle of East Cavalry Field occurred on July 3, the Michigan cavalry of Gen. George Custer defending against Confederate Gen. Jeb Stuart's force. Nice place to go early in the...More

There is a lot of history here. Quite a statue to mark yet another historical site in the area. This statue really rang out tall with nothing but a blue sky behind it on the day I was there

This is a definite part of the tour you must see when in Gettysburg. Just so surreal. It was raining the day I went - do let that discourage you - you can take pictures from your car still..

This part of the battlefield is visited by few. It's rather out of the way from where the main fighting took place. It's worth the effort, though.

You can stop and take about 5-10 minutes to get out of your car to view the statue, or you can view it from the road. Very nice statue.

Thia is by far the nicest battlefield to walk in Gettysburg. This is the all important third day when the Calvary (including the Michigan Regiments under the command of Brig. Gen, George Armstrong Custer) met with the artillery of Gen. Jeb. Stuart and Gen. Wade...More

This monument took my breath away. It is truly beautiful and reminds us of the sacrifice the cavalries made at Gettysburg. Such courage it must have took to charge into this battle. It is a place of humility and pride.

Just 3 miles away, about 1 million visitors a year visit Gettysburg and the battlefield that surrounds the town. But here? Where cavalry elements from both armies clashed in the afternoon of the 3rd day, not many people venture. I would venture a guess only...More
