It's a steep trail to the top of Big Round Top, but it's not really all that long. While the trees block much of the view, the reality is that the same was true during the battle. Be sure to take in the 20th Maine...More

The hike up the mountain to the top looks imposing but only took this "old man" (59) 10 minutes and is not that bad. Can be slippery if wet so get walking stick. Some monuments at top to explain what happened.

I wondered what the soldiers were thinking as I looked down from Big Round Top. The sidewalks were in decent condition as were the monuments. One monument was in the process of being repaired.

This is a must see place when visiting. This and little round top. Also devil's den and the whole rest of the park really. We cannot wait to come back to Gettysburg next year!

Big Round Top from the Culps Hill tower (104 steps up). Very green with beautiful trees. Signs show what sites are in the distance. I enjoyed going up and down the steps.
