Friendly and helpful staff
Jul 2021 • Family
The staff was friendly and helpful. I went on a Friday. It was unbusy and had a lot to look at. They had one of those machines where you can roll a penny as a souvenir. We did that. They had a gift shop and a lot of art, brochures, etc.

Displays are Awesome!
May 2021 • Couples
Upon arriving at the Visitors Center, I was greeted by a very friendly and informative ranger. The centers video was so informative about the area and its precious minerals. There were beautiful stained glass art pieces placed around the center- beautiful!!! You have to stop here and see what is displayed.

Great displays and helpful staff

We stopped by for a short time to look around. It was really nice on the inside, helpful staff and plenty of information to be shared. Did not have an issue with parking. A must stop.

This center had all the information I was looking for while visiting! I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and got to relax in the spacious room. The gift shop and park movie especially were highlights. Definitely a great first stop if you’re in the area!

Beautiful Books, Jewelry, and Good Food
Oct 2018 • Couples
Beautiful History Books, etc.
The Aachompa' Gallery Gift Shop has beautiful jewelry, blankets, and books. I bought the large art book, Uprising! Woody Crumbo's Indian Art by Robert Perry with the silk screen blue Spirit Horse on the cover, copyright 2009 by the Chickasaw Press. His artwork reminds me of Japanese art and is lovely. I lived in Japan in the 1940's and the artwork I loved was vibrant with color, like Woody's. Beside the large prints of artwork such as Eagle Dancer, Deer Dancer, Feather Dancer, there are also many smaller paintings along with stories of Woody's life.
Good Food
The Aaimpa Cafe had a favorite Chickasaw Indian Taco, which had meat, beans, and corn on fried bread. It was very good and affordable.
