Neighbourhood: Hell's Kitchen
Just a few strides from the pulsing beat of Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen has a much more local pulse than its buzzing neighbour. The low-key vibe is part of the appeal, but there’s also a new energy arriving in the neighbourhood in the form of modern residential buildings with new retail and food shops. Ninth Avenue is lined with restaurants of all types, from tiny Thai hangouts and Italian trattorias to French bistros and Southern cuisine. Just show up hungry and walk up and down the street, you are bound to find something that looks good. For a more classic taste of the city, grab a bite to eat along Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) before a Broadway show. The Hudson River provides a break from the city blocks with riverside views, piers for boat tours, and parks perfect for a stroll.

- Turks1956Stow, Massachusetts457 contributionsFabulous Birthday CelebrationWe thoroughly enjoyed the show. We arrived to the line at about 6:25 for the 8PM Sunday show. Reserved table seats and we were not first in line but still got a great seat. Tables spaced apart towards the front. The setting was superb and the sound was good. Would love it if they can get assisted listening devices so I could hear all the lyrics. The food was ok, not the best restaurant but hey, that was not what we were there for. The services was great. Would return again. We are from Boston and don’t remember en experience as nice as this.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 April 2023

- CharlesS55 contributionsA highlight of our NYC tripWe went to see Jon Faddis with our two children. What a fantastic experience. We were shown to a lovely table, had a very nice meal, the service was friendly and efficient. And the jazz was amazing - set against the backdrop of the sun setting on New York. - Cabang01Montreal, Canada4 contributionsA very fine evening indeed! We went for the 5pm show on Sunday night and got there a half hour before to see a lineup of at least 20 people ahead of us. So if you want to get a good seat get there early. The jazz musicians are just great and we had a fun evening. Service was attentive, the food is basic fare, drinks are good and the view overlooking NYC is panoramic. Good value all around, we will surely go back next time we’re in town.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 August 2023

This is the worst of all the New York jazz clubs. Steer clear. They will switch acts on you and lie to your face about it. The manager is a horrible human and should not be allowed to interact with customers. Overpriced. Short sets. Rude employees. Nothing positive.

Fantastic jazz club. We had a great time seeing a tribute to Art Blakey. The venue and the building where it is at are gorgeous and elegant. The club has a incredible view over Manhattan. We ordered food and drinks and everything was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back.

On the last night of my visit to NYC, I had booked a table at Dizzy‘s - it was blast, the Juillard Jazz Orchestra performing Duke Ellington, the views over Central Park, the great Team and the good food, wine and cocktails - Thank you very much, Dizzy‘s, for this evening!

A sophisticated NYC Jazz club found in Columbus Circle but attached to the Lincoln Centre. Spectacular views across the park & city as the sun drops & the lights twinkle.
We saw the Kelly Green Trio, a professional group of young and talented musicians!
Food & beverages all up to scratch with ribs & Gumbo on the menu.
A great night out for a treat but you must book well ahead.

I have table reservations for 2 on Friday at 7:30 show. We plan to eat there. How early should we arrive to get a decent table and have food on the table before the show starts? Also, are there any two-person tables or will we be sat with other people at a larger table?

We got there 15 minutes before the doors open and found a line up of 10 people, so best to go early. We sat at a round table for two beside the stage and were served before the show started. Enjoy!

I have made a reservation for next sunday 9:30 pm - a table for four for Wycliffe Gordon & All Stars. I would like to know if in addition to ticket there is a minimum consumption.
Thanks

We have a reservation for 4 people at a 7:30 p.m. show. What time does the box office open to pay and pick up tickets? What time should we arrive in order to get a good table?
Thank you!!!

Hi! You will have an amazing time, it is a beautiful venue. As to what time to get there, if t were me (and this is what we do every time) we get there early early as I believe it is first come first serve. Reality is there is no bad table in the house.
I believe they open at 5. There is a lovely bar inside and one close by at another level. It maybe possible to get your table assignment early and then spend some time enjoying the bar or the mall.
Enjoy!
