Nice place to rest if you are in the area
Sep 2021
Union Square mostly contains a good size park with trees, grass, flowers, and a few statues. There are plenty of benches to sit and eat lunch, for example or people watch. I would not say it is worth a separate trip, but a nice place to walk through if you are in the area.

Rest between shopping.
Sep 2021 • Family
It was a nice refreshing break after long walks exploring and shopping in NYC. Big open spaces we grab some drinks from the nearby stall and sat down and people watch. Don’t go out of your way to visit but if shopping in the area like us it’s a perfect place for a pit shop.

Great city square that is part homeless camp
Aug 2021 • Business
One of the most iconic squares in New York, surrounded by Greenwich Village, Irving Square and Flatiron...easy to access but the park is sadly overrun by homeless and hustlers selling their wares on the sidewalks making a safe, carefree and leisurely walk a near impossibility.

Great Place to Hang
Aug 2021 • Friends
We’d been shopping around the area and still had 30 minutes to kill before our dinner reservation, so we decided to take a seat here. Lots of great people watching and we struck up nice conversations with locals and fellow tourists alike. There were food kiosks near, but we didn’t partake since we were waiting on dinner. It turned out to be a most pleasant and unexpected part of our day.

Great park with an outdoor market
Jul 2021
I really enjoyed visiting this park. Lots of people lounging and enjoying time outdoors. There was a type of farmers market which looked great and some vendors selling artwork and other trinkets.

Great park to hang out around Soho
Aug 2021 • Family
We went to sit in the park after shopping in Soho. It’s got a small restaurant which serves drinks and small kiosk with coffee. It s a bustling square where you can listen to live singers and just read a book on the benches.

Great area

Great area to explore. Mount Sinai Union Square is located right next to the park. There is a nice park to relax in or explore, shops, restaurants everywhere. Worth visiting.

Beautiful Park
Apr 2021 • Business
This park has a very Parisian feel. The farmer's market is incredible. Plenty of vendors selling great stuff. This is the ideal spot to enjoy a cup of coffee on a sunny day.

Awesome farmers market!
Mar 2020 • Friends
We accidentally stumbled upon Union Square Park (we’re not usually that far downtown). It’s a very picturesque area and very nice. We happened to pass through on a Friday and they had a nice farmers market set up (I understand the market is year round on Fridays and Saturdays). The market had plants, fresh produce, baked goods, cheese, and alcohol. Really cool to walk through. We even came back on Saturday to check it out again. We got some great goat cheese from a little stand called LynnHaven and some moonshine from Full Moonshine. So cool. Will definitely be back!
