Excellent place the view is amazing, the season though wasn't the greatest since it was during the last week of December, it was very crowded so it took long hours of waiting. I recommend to be at the place before the opening hour.

We chose to go in the evening and we were happy we did. It was also snowing at the time of our visit. This attraction was part of of the New York Pass.

To go up at the Empire State Building you have to make a line that last hours and at the end, there are other buildings with a better view and faster lines.

We went at dusk on a cold night so lines wouldn’t have been bad anyway, but a bellman said they can be four hours long in August! We loved looking around the city from the observatory! What a treat.

It wasn’ t a nuclear power plant, just a transformer that turned the low cloudy sky blue when a fire started and caused the arc of electricity across two terminals. Did see it and not too bothered!
