Great!

After studying world geography in our homeschool, I wondered if the cottages would be worth the time. They were! We visited on Sunday afternoon, and many offered snack/drink samples for a donation. Just a quick walk through, stepping inside each cottage was very enjoyable to us. A very gentle "attraction" but really neat and so happy we took our 3 boys. Loved the bagpipe concert from Scotland!

Beautiful cottages showcasing different countries
Jan 2020
Beautiful and lively place to visit. On the weekend I happened to visit, they happened to host the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations and it was a memorable experience. Live music, food stalls from a lot of different countries, people having a good time sampling food from various cultures - it was awesome!
There are a number of small cottages, each one representing a country. I didn't visit all of them. The few I stepped into had decor showcasing life in that particular country and had a lot of information about the culture and tourism in those lands. There were also representatives who were willing to answer queries. I'd highly recommend visiting, all the more so if they are hosting events or gatherings!

Promoting different cultures
Oct 2019
A laudable concept from the mid-1930s continues good work today. When it was established in the 1930s there was great need for understanding and tolerance between countries, a requirement still cogent in modern times.

Comprising over 30 abodes from distinct countries, each one presents a picture and account of their society.

Food fair

My husband and I went to an international food fair at this venue and had a wonderful experience. Displays and food samples (for nominal fees) from many countries and everything was cheerful, informative and delicious. Had a great time.

Odd and quirky

This was our first stop in Balboa and it was bit strange. It's a bunch of little buildings and each represent a country. The each offer small "bites" of food for purchase. They also display some information on each country.

A Classic from the 1930's lives on
Sep 2018 • Couples
Volunteers keep this iconic element in Balboa park going; on a weekend you might find many open, and serving 'free' cookies - or even mini sandwiches with sausage slices (the polish house) ... each is very small, some more 'display' oriented (Israel and Iran) some with minimal diplays (United States) and some with volunteers knitting (Sweden) all worth a couple of minutes... in a nice setting with a central grassy area.

Fairy ones
Aug 2017 • Family
This 34 cottages village is just outside the main course, in the forest on the top of Palm Canyon. Each house represents a country , its culture and traditions. Like a small museum displaying unique items of history and art.
This quiet and peaceful place makes you think why wouldn’t these 34 countries establish a new universal organization i.o. the existing false and corrupted ones...
Once you have your imagination ignited, you can expect some fairies coming out. Where else if not here?

wonderful cotteges

This was a lucky find while we were walking in Balboa Park - our first time in San Diego. Stumbled upon these cute cottages that showcased different countries, and in each cottage there is information about the country and some folks who could answer questions.
Very informational and pleasing to the eyes at the same time.

Multikulturel experience
Oct 2017 • Solo
Went on a Sunday where there was a special event around songs and dances from Austria and Bawarian (Germany). Waltzing with Strauss and Lederhosen folklore.
Houses from many countries served small samples of food from their part of the World. Peace and Harmony all over the place.
Takker to people from philippines, Czech Republik, Sweden, Norway, Finland, China and many more.
