A nice boat ride from the city, the fort is impressive even if it doesn't own a lot of history. Impressive enough I guess to scare off any intruders. The tides and currents bring old debris from the old trash dumping spot outside Boston Light,...More

We enjoyed the boat ride out to George's Island and the tour of the large fort. The ranger guiding the fort tour was very knowledgeable and the tour interesting.

Greta place to visit. Take the ferry and after 30 minutes you reach George's Island. You will better understand the history of Boston Harbor. The rangers are just great. I recommend the tour. By the way the lobster roll at the cafetaria are very good;

This island has a lot of history and worth the ferry ride. It is also where Fort Warren is. In short it's where British troops were stationed during the Revolutionary War (prior to Fort Warren). Then Fort Warren became a Fort and prison for Confederate...More

We caught the ferry from Hingham to George's Island, which was itself worthy of review. Our $54 ticket for two adults and one senior included free parking (avoiding the $4.50 parking in Hingham), but we missed the 10AM ferry, since arriving at 9:30 was not...More
