This was a true gem of a place and quite special to see in person. A short ~15 min hike down and you’ll see little fish in the tidepools around the famous old man rock. We didn’t climb the rope onto old man or swim out - probably not the safest. We were the only ones there and Take your trash with you, keep the place beautiful. Tip - park on the road when you see the sign for old man by the sea (don’t listen to google maps and go all the way, it’s a blocked off path!).

Great hike on a very well kept trail. Probably saw 50 hermit crabs on the way. When the trail opens up and you see the beach it's really easy to see the "old man". I would definitely have given this 5 stars except for the beach is really really trashed with plastics that have washed up - if I would have known I would have taken a trash bag to help do my part (currently about 20 bags of trash there).

This was one of our first locations to visit on our trip. The hike was longer than most and went through some pretty dense jungle / vegetation. (In my opinion, that is part of the charm.) We even had to crouch low to get through some "tree branch tunnels" - very cool.
When you exit the jungle, you immediately notice the huge rock that truly does look like an "Old Man by the Sea". We did some wading in the water / pools that surrounded the area. However, this is NOT a place for swimming or snorkeling. The waves are continually crashing, with extreme force, into the reef barrier - just a few dozen yard away. The safely navigated pools are very shallow. I really loved this place, but it is only for looking and viewing, not for swimming or snorkeling.

After a 20-30 minute hike down, you will not be disappointed. The natural scenic features are gorgeous and breath taking. Be prepared for strong currents but amazing tidal pools and platforms from which to enjoy the incoming or outgoing tides. The hike back up will be tiring and take longer so leave an hour before dark and bring water to drink with you.

If you like trekking and you are ready to walk for 20-30 minutes one way a trail in the jungle, than this is the right place to be. The trail will take you to a small beach with some caves and a big rock that look like a head of an old man. Having a camera is a must! Unfortunately, the ocean splash the human's trash back here - the only bummer about this wonderful place. The beach is Geocaching friendly, as there is hidden treasure here :)

If you enjoy a varied hike with low hanging vines, slippery paths and sharp rocks to explore on the beach, then you have found your hike. This hike has ups and downs and it feels very hot in the jungle, so take plenty of water. Wear clothes that can get destroyed. My athletic pants ripped on coral rock on the beach.

I love the beauty of this place! People have definitely left a lot of marks on the rock and beach. Personally, I remember this place when it did not have all of the beach debris. visitors have strung fishing bouys, flip flops, etc. around the "Old Man" rock and I found it to be a bit of an eye sore.

Trailhead is challenging to find. You hike through jungle with manageable trail that leads to shoreling with rock formation with an 'Old Man' profile. Waves were rough, so could not go to tidepools. Not a good swim area but still picturesque ocean and mountail surroundings.

Fun (and somewhat challenging) hike! So glad that we went there. The rocks on the right side of the beach were so cool to see the waves splash over!!

Good picture taking of the ole nose. High tide brings in the waves. Can climb down by ladder, or walk in the back through the jungle from highway.
