Amazing park. The space for children to run around in and burn off energy is vast. Through out the park there are lots of separate areas, from children's play areas to gardens to explore or to sit and watch the day go by. We only...More
I hired a bike a cycled around the park, I started at the bike hire from a rental place close to the Ferry building. The city's cycle lanes make it easy and safe to get there. I hadn't been on a bike in years and...More
This is one of SF biggest heart. So much to see and do here that it may be impossible to all the activities. Tea Garden, Conservatory, the Aquarium, AIDs Garden, ocean Beach even a fun little 9 hole golf course (best in the AM).
I love the deYoung Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and just walking around. You can take a city bus to/from almost anywhere. Uber is also available, and not expensive as the city itself is surprisingly small.

Depends how. I think to walk to would take an awful long time and please don't forget about the hills. It will turn any nice walk to a nightmare. It will cost $50 in a cab or uber, you're going across town. When I went, I took the hour long bus (cab would take you a half an hour anyway - we took cab there cause I was tired, but bus back). I got a 7 day muni pass that got me unlimited rides on cable car, streetcar and buses for like $45. Paid for itself in the first day. You can buy it right at the airport where baggage claim is. I recommend the public transportation highly, it runs well and is priced right if you are looking out for that sort of thing.
