A two-mile walk along Maui's northwest coast, the trail begins and ends on a beach. In between, you'll see spactacular oceanfront and bountiful greenery on the dramatic coastline.

This part of the Northwest Maui coast is beautiful and rugged; not all of it is "trail"; some being more a "sidewalk walk" as you meander next to the upscale condo developments of Kapalua

We hiked the Kapalua coastal trail in Nov, 2018 and loved the scenery. The hike starts at Kapalua bay, a popular spot for snorkeling. Along the trail, you get to see the blue waters with huge waves crashing against the rocks, three beaches, resorts, villas...More

Hike through the lava fields with great vistas. Make sure to wear good shoes because lava is very sharp. Wonderful hike!

This is a moderate walk as it does have a few steep inclines, depending upon the time of day, a hat and sun screen would be good choices, definitely sun glasses and field glasses. We went in the morning and did see dolphins and humpback...More

Beautiful easy trail, very accessible. Be sure to take water and sunscreen as sea breeze makes it feel cooler than it is. Easy to get sun burnt

We walked this almost everyday. It's not very long and it's fairly easy and flat, almost anyone could do it. Beautiful views, you'll pass 3 different beaches, resort areas, bird nesting ground. Some sharp lava areas, so good soled shoes are wise, as is water...More

The Kapalua Coastal Trail is gorgeous! If you enjoy the beach and walk/hiking outdoors then this is a must do. One of the very best coastal trails I have ever walked.

We hiked this trail from our hotel - Na Pali Kai. Enjoyed the views and found this not to be too difficult for 70 year olds. The trail weaves in and out of the Kapalua golf community so you are sometimes on the street (sidewalk)...More

This hike can be as short or long as you wish. There are many points to leave the trail and return along the road. Breath taking views. It is very exposed and can be subject to wind. I recommend tennis shoes, but saw many people...More

There is no charge to walk along the trail. It is very easy path - mostly dirt with some boardwalk areas and a few steps. We had no problem with finding parking but it is limited - mostly at the side of the road with a... More

not sure -- the board walk is only a short portion of the train -- the rest is "off-road" but well worn - you can also do what we do which is deviate from the path and follow the shore line. This involves more climbing up... More
