I spent a week at the Hyatt arriving late Monday afternoon and chose to have my spa day the following morning. I made my appointment several weeks in advance by phone for a massage and facial. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly staff and escorted by one member to the lady's area where I was assigned my own locker which had a spa robe and slippers for use. I was shown around and told what areas was for ladies only and which were shared. After reading other reviews I would like to say that their website states most areas are shared, and you are told to wear a swimsuit or such. I was asked when making reservations if I preferred a male or female therapist. It did not matter to me. My massage was with a male therapist, and he did a wonderful job. He was very attentative to pressure and my problem areas and was the most professional. By the time my massage was complete, I felt relaxed and much of my tension relieved and was ready to move on to my facial.
My facial was fabulous. I had a problem area and she professionally addressed it as well as made a few recommendations to speed the recovery process. She was super friendly and a native of Hawaii. I just cannot remember her name!
When my facial was complete, I was taken to the relaxation area that was superb. The view was awesome. I stayed for more than an area sipping on tea and lemon water and snacking on fresh fruit doing nothing more than just relaxing.
Before closing out my ticket I did browse the products in the gift shop and purchased a few items.
Yes, they do add a 20% gratuity to your ticket, BUT, I was told I could adjust. I was fine with the 20% as I was very happy with my services and with the facility.
I will also say some of the reviews talk about how expensive the services are......they are a bit expensive compared to some of the US spas, but considering the location and being in Maui, the prices are comparable to others.

Oh where to begin. Let’s begin with how I left, wet, sticky and upset after paying $356 for 1 service. Things to know: this is not in the Hyatt property - you have to walk. This is not ADA compliant- there are 1 sets of stairs and it’s steep. They add a 20% gratuity automatically to your bill. The spa jacuzzi is broken. The lounge area where you sit between set between services (naked under a robe) allows men. My services started late and I was left waiting for a while. The person who checked me in- tall white girl with black hair failed to offer me slippers or explain the amenities but I heard her giving another woman the full rundown about slippers and the amenities while I was in the shower. I had to use my own shoes which were ruined and soaking wet. The body scrub and facial combo I had was ok at best. They left the scrub on instead of rinsing it so you lay there in a sticky, scratchy goop. At the end of my facial tinted sunscreen was applied that was really sticky as well. I could not get either off after 2 showers with soap. At this point I wasn’t willing to get another bad service so I cashed out. But they charged me anyway for a service I didn’t get after I requested it be removed from the bill. Overall- this was definitely not a relaxing experience and the way they handled my appointment was less than ideal. I spent $356 and walked out wet, sticky, and quite unhappy. With so many other choices- especially at their prices- I’d skip this spa. Wish I had.

Aloha Ms. Bolton, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We value all feedback. Which brings us to respond to the following review, We are located at the south end of Hyatt property, about 5 minutes from the main hotel lobby. I apologize you were not made aware of that. For future reference, we have a sign for our service elevator that will take you directly to our spa. I understand the frustration of the Jacuzzi being under construction. We emailed and called all existing and new guests to alert them of the situation for those days it was being serviced. We are happy to announce our completely remodeled jacuzzi is up and running. The front desk concierge, who is still in training, has been addressed with the proper protocols. I apologize that you were not offered slippers. Our locker rooms and facilities are separated by gender. For co-ed lounge and treatment rooms guests are more than welcome to dress down to their comfort level. As it described on our menu, the hydrating body mask is designed to not be showered off. Unfortunately, when these services are booked online it’s hard to answer/describe more in depth. For your skin to reap the most benefits, these natural and pure ingredients are meant to be left on for your skin to absorb. We apologize that you had an unfavorable experience with the reef friendly tinted sunscreen, it is one of our best sellers and most liked retail product. Unfortunately, as stated in our cancellation policy which is on our online menu or when you call and book, we have a cancellation/no show policy which we usually charge 100% but we accommodated and only charged 50%. All guests at checkout are given the choice and more than welcome to adjust the tip accordingly, just like you chose to at the end of your service. Again, we value the feedback and appreciate you taking the time to leave this review.

I feel the need to write a review to debunk all the previous ones! I booked a massage here while my husband was golfing across the street. I booked due to proximity and didn’t read reviews - then when I did I was super nervous! However all my expectations were beyond exceeded! I was warmly greeted and shown a lovely locker room and was taken to the treatment area. I received an amazing lomi lomi massage from Nina - who was incredible - I had to try hard not to fall asleep! You’re then escorted to the “relaxation room” which is an open air cushy lounge chair area where you relax and listen to the waves below and watch the palm trees above. I spent the next 2 hours lounging there, in the hot tub reading and going between the dry and steam sauna. I finished off with a luxurious shower and then went out to the beach right out the front steps. I had access to the spa all day and all of the amenities! It was an incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating experience - and my husband was very jealous when I told him about my morning !!

Aloha Natalie, We’re so delighted to hear that you had a great experience! It’s always rewarding when we receive feedback as detailed and thoughtful as yours. Our whole team works very hard to keep our guests happy, but we can only do so thanks to guests like you. Your review has been shared with our staff. The Relaxation Lounge is a crowd favorite, being able to relax and look at the neighboring islands is simply wonderful. I am so thrilled to hear that we met your expectations. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this amazingly detailed review. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Mahalo

Unprofessional and got our order wrong and rude. Save your money and don’t go here. There’s way better places. More stress than relaxation

Not a nice Hyatt is a great hotel but the spa does bring its overall score down bad attitudes and need upgrades!

I set up a couples massage here for my honeymoon and it was absolutely what we needed! They have some awesome stuff in the locker room, my favorite was the shallow hot tub! We booked the Private Ocean View Cabana Couples Massage and it was the most relaxing massage ever! You need to wear bathing suits considering it’s outdoors which was completely fine. I recommend something easy to take off your back/shoulders such as a strapless bikini top for ease when they massage your back. It was hot out that day, so we added the facial mask add on and it was soo refreshing because the heat was almost uncomfortable, but the mask made that much of a difference to cool you down. It’s so serene to hear the ocean while getting this massage, it’s a whole other world. But be aware that it’s by the beach where families are so you hear the occasional kids screaming, it’s not that bad as there is a bit of a distance still. Since we booked this for July 1st, the town apparently does their tsunami siren testing on the 1st of every month which happened during the massage but didn’t last longer than a minute. When the massage was done, you end by going to a relaxation room that overlooks the ocean where they have some refreshing drinks for you to just soak in your experience before heading off to the remainder of your day. The team was very professional and accommodating. I highly recommend this spa, it’s beyond worth it and a moment to remember forever!

It's hard to review a place that won't return your calls or take your reservation. We called the Marilyn Monroe spa multiple times during our stay, since calling is the only way to book. No one answered. We left a message with detailed info on calling us back and what we wanted (as the answering machine directed). No one called us back. Finally, we went to the spa itself at 5:20 in the afternoon. We just wanted to ask how to make a reservation since other attempts failed. Both the hours on their website and the nearby hotel employees informed us the spa closed at 6. However, we were turned away and told the spa was already closed forty minutes before it was supposed to.

Don't waste your time trying to book with this spa. Spend your money at a place that actually wants your business.

I booked here for hair and makeup before a wedding. Heather was my stylist. She did a great job with the hair and the makeup was gorgeous. It was the first time I wore fake eyelashes and they ended up lasting for a whole week afterwards! She was very nice and the view out the window made the whole experience a really awesome time. If I am ever in Maui again, I would go back!

Spent two mornings here while on vacation, one for massage and the other for a facial. So relaxing and a great experience. The spa is small but beautiful and clean. The relaxation room has a gorgeous ocean view. My massage was very good but my facial was exceptionally good and the best facial I have ever had. Definitely recommend a morning here if you want to unwind and relax.

We were planning to go here during our honeymoon. They canceled on us the evening before with no availability to reschedule for the rest of our trip. We were offered no compensation or alternatives. My wife was very disappointed as it was too late notice to schedule anything else.
