We’ve been to Maui twice and have been recommended MANY beaches, but we really enjoyed our lovely, local Kam 3. If you catch some calm weather, go down early and snorkel from the furthest south section. You’re likely to see some fish and turtles (Ulua Beach is better for snorkeling but it’s also crowded). If you like to bodyboard, head to the main beach area. There’s a lifeguard, block of toilets, outside showers, and a huge lawn that has the perfect view for watching the sunset. There’s also plenty of parking if you are staying further away. A top fave spot.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 March 2023

Good size parking lot but does fill up on the weekend but there is also decent street parking.Visited April 2023Written 23 April 2023

Available parking, showers, restrooms, shady grass areas. but the vibe was not as sparkly/tourtisy: some loud locals with open beer, speakers, smoking and weed.Visited May 2023Written 23 May 2023

We sat and enjoyed seeing whales, and the gorgeous sunset. There weren’t a ton of people on the beach either so it was peaceful. We really liked staying in Kihei close to this beach so we could walk here at night to see the sunset.Visited February 2023Written 23 June 2023

It is a small beach but the park above has a lot of area as well as a lot of shade. The beach area is rocky, so be careful where you go in.

Our children loved boogie boarding here. The lifeguard at the tower helped keep people safe. The shallow sandy bottom made swimming and boogie boarding fun.

Having been to Maui numerous times we have visited Kam I, II, and III. We had expectations of the beach being as good or better than Kamaole I or II. It was not. The park was terrific but the beach was small with lots of coral and lava chunks. I was windy, being soft in the early morning and getting really strong before noon. The water was crystal clean early AM but as the surf got rougher it churned the sand so you could not see the bottom as you walked out. I was knocked down several times and decided that it was either the weather affecting the waves, or it is just rougher than Kamaole I. The best part of the beach was the totally attentive Life Guard. He was really amazing.

The beach and the stores. I would definitely go again. It was sunny and nice. We spent time at the beach, swimming in the pool at our condo and shopping in nearby stores.

This was the perfect spot to stop to watch the sunset whether just a couple or a family. There is a playground and showers. The public restroom was clean.

Went twice. Easy parking in the lot both times. Lifeguards were on it. First afternoon it was too windy and second morning was better. Smallish beach, more like a sandy cove. Not too rocky. Snorkel opportunities further out but be careful of the rocks. Swam by a few Hona and say a bunch of fish. Waves were not great either day.

Kamaole Beach 3 is a free public beach so there is no charge to use the beach.
What time does park open?

I don't know that the park has them, but you have access to public outdoor showers at the condos across the street.
