My mom and (adult) me did the Combination Tour, which takes you to select parts in the McBryde and Allerton gardens. It was so boring — not at all what we expected — and from what we saw, we think you’d be much better off...More

What a gem of a botanical garden. We have been to many gardens and this is at the top of my list. Not to be missed. Allow about 3-4 hours to see everything.

We enjoy this garden over and over. The sunset tour with dinner, which we had not taken before, was highly enjoyable. The dinner could have been :O-hum, but it was really tasty.

The tour we took, which was a guided tour, used a small (15 passenger ) bus. There was some walking when the bus stopped at various locations but many opportunities to rest.

I believe the McBryde Gardens tour is more about the plants and a shorter tour. The midday Allerton Gardens tour takes well over two hours. Besides hearing about the plants you hear a lot of wonderful stories about the site... More
