Path is fairly obvious, which is good because it's not really marked. You'll walk through sand, bushes, rocks and part of a golf course. We forgot to take our map and couldn't tell where the trail ended. We stopped above the riding stables next to...More

As everyone says, especially if you go in the summer, get there early and bring lots of water! It’s a coastal walk, there is no shade. Can park in Grand Hyatt lot for free, go to concierge desk, they will give you a map and...More

Great hike along the coast. It starts at Shipwrecks beach. I would go early in the morning because parking can be limited and the sun can be brutal. Some of the trail is sandy and rocky so I would wear sneakers or hikers. There are...More

It's a nice trail next on the coast, easy one, but part of the trail is sand beach, no way to avoid.

Great walk that lets you choose how far you want to go out and back. We left Shipwrecks beach and went two miles along the cliff tops looking at the amazing shoreline and the power of the ocean. Awe inspiring. Had fun walking along Poipu...More

Not a bad hike at all regardless of age. We are in our 70's. Need to wear study shoes. Hike it in the early morning before it gets too hot. Highly recommend.

We were lucky to stay in a condo along the Maha’ulepu Heritage Trail and walked the path multiple times. Coming from the East coast of USA, we were up for the sunrise our first morning and took a stroll at first light. We found some...More

The trailhead at Shipwrecks beach is easy to identify. Parking at shipwrecks is limited so for that and to avoid the heat, go early. The prettiest part of the hike is before and up to the golf course. After the golf course which you walk...More

Not for people with limited mobility as very little is even surfaces and it’s all along cliffs, but that said it’s stunning and beautiful. Try waking up early and being there for sunrise!!!

It is about 2 miles each way and should take a few hours. A good chunk of it is just walking on the beach. Nothing strenuous and good for all levels.

Same answer: facing the ocean, going right gives you a paved walking path that windes along the water and eventually fizzles out at the condos. Going left gives you the trail.
